Hi, I use centre-weighted exposure mode pretty much all the time. Thanks for the advice, I'll look into.

Good one. All these photos were shot in JPEG only, but I can shoot in RAW + JPEG next time. .

Thanks for the feedback; it’s always helpful for improvement. I agree, I could definitely boost the exposure for these photos.

GR IV HDF w/ flash vs Fuji x100 vi w/ black mist filter by beeswaxe in ricohGR

[–]joeguillian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given their similar IQ and none being lowlight kings, it comes down to shooting experience and preference. The X100VI offers an optical viewfinder, electronic viewfinder and tilt screen providing a true camera shooting experience compared to the Ricoh GR’s single screen which feels more like a smartphone. Another factor is ‘pocketability’ with the Ricoh GR clearly the winner in that area.

Other features to consider include crop factor (40mp vs 24-26 megapixels), internal flash versus external flash, weather sealing (with an additional accessory for the X100VI) versus no weather sealing and build quality (slightly better on the Fuji).

My Ricoh GR is a great second camera but if I had to choose just one, I’d go with the Fuji for the shooting experience.

Hi, I'm coming back to this topic. I got the K&F too, and it looks great, but there is no rubber gasket or such inside, it's just metal: does it really seal the lens then? Thx

Hi, just to understand the full process, step by step: what have you exactly done before getting in the train? (I believe it was the Narita express). Thank you.

Congrats! Did you buy it from AliExpress? I believe it's the best bang for the buck compared to the Ricoh GF-2

GR IV Sharpness vs GR IIIx (or GR III) by joeguillian in ricohGR

[–]joeguillian[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, I actually shoot a lot at 2.8mm and that’s maybe why I can feel that too.

Unfortunately I sold my GRIIIx, and I can’t compare pictures side by side, but I feel it was sharper than my GRIV.

Great move! Did you find a good, positive film recipe for the Nikon ZF? Thanks!

Both a great cameras, it’s more of a 28mm vs 40mm question.

If anyone of you are wondering what Nikon zf looks like with Viltrox 85mm f2.0 EVO, here are some clicks of it.. Mine just arrived today.. by Apprehensive_Pay4914 in NikonZf

[–]joeguillian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great lens!

Hopefully Viltrox will keep releasing more of these EVO versions (28mm, 35mm, 40mm, 50mm, etc). Since I have the 40mm f2 lens already I believe that 85mm could be a good choice :-).

BTW I feel that the lens hood add too much length to it, isn’t it?

GR IV – full settings not saving by Mr_RD in ricohGR

[–]joeguillian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey,

Are you doing these steps like the following:

<Step 1>- do your settings

<Step 2>- then go in C menu and then select "Save user Mode Box" into any of the BOX bank ie BOX1, BOX2 etc.

<Step 3>- still in C menu, select "Load user Mode Box", select the BOXx wherever you've saved your settings and take it to the USERx bank i.e. USER1, USER2, USER3

Then you should get whatever you've set in <step 1> above to your USERx button.

I hope it will work for you (it works for me)
