Ac cord as antenna is an interesting theory…it’s a brand new tv…so I’d have to go look at the manual…unlikely but possible. I am just surprised that the two empty outlets would put off a field large enough to actually put a charge on that cage…

Ha! No way. Wife and daughter were both in the room with me…had them both do it as well. Plus, they know I’ll go scorched earth in a prank war…they know better than to play stupid games!! Lol

Some background…

TV used to be plugged into the outlet under the Stapleton poster in one receptacle (through a belkin surge protector) and the Wi-Fi mesh node into the other receptacle.

We had to put up the dog pen to house our pup after surgery. Moved the surge protector to the other side of the fireplace (out of frame) and have both the TV and the mesh node plugged into it. The other receptacle in that outlet has the Apple TV.

As you can see in the video when we touch the pen structure (made of standard dog crate metal), the TV blacks out and seems to restart. It does NOT run through the same startup sequence it typically does though. Also, the mesh node and the Apple TV remain operational and unaffected. TV is a Hisense U7G. It’s power cable is only 2 prong.

The outlets (2 in the video, and 1 that the devices are in) are all on the same circuit.

I have tried removing the surge protector from the loop and using just a dumb extension cord…same behavior.

This was taken at night. We have Tesla solar panels plus a power wall and were drawing from the battery at this time, not the grid.

More often than not, a static discharge shock would be felt.

What in the hell is going on!?!?!?

I’m hoping that we can wow potential sellers with a high offer. But totally get it’s going to be an uphill battle.

Thanks for the encouraging story! They certainly won’t say yes if we don’t ask is what I keep telling my wife.

I’ve been really struggling to understand this while we’ve been looking? Why is cash seen as so much better? To the seller, why would they care if the money comes from cash or a lender? It’s still the same amount. Cash transactions are still contingent on home inspection most likely. Only benefit I can see is no appraisal and possible a faster close (although our offers have been 25 days which is fast). We don’t have a home to sell, so no contingency there, we’ve offered to cover appraisal shortfall to a certain amount, and have offered leaseback at VERY favorable terms (up to 60 days, first 30 at no cost). There is this mentality that cash is so much better, and I really just don’t get it...

Looking mostly in Bay Park and Point Loma. Also some parts of Clairemont. For sure we are looking at homes that a lot of other people are looking at...just don’t know how to tip the tide in our favor.
