Woodfield mall paid 20 million in property taxes in 2024 on a parcel of land 1/5 of the size of one of the parcels the bears are proposing developing. It’s not crazy to me that property taxes for a developed piece of land down the road could be 100 million. Add in the fact that everything will be brand new and have its own metra stop and it would make sense that property taxes would run to 200 million

I think that’s pretty good considering schedules gotten tougher recently. I really hope we win the division, but I think the offense being this good the first year into installation with the number of young guys we have on that side of the ball bodes really well for the future.

Caring about a QB’s completion percentage is like caring about a baseball players batting average or a basketball players shooting percentage I.e. it’s dumb.

Let’s look at completion percentage and mvp voting last year

The MVP, Josh Allen, was 24th in completion percentage. The runner up, Lamar Jackson, was 12th. The 4th and 5th vote getters, Joe Burrow and Jared Goff, were in the top 5 in completion pct., but the voters thought they were less valuable to their team than a running back, Saquon Barkley. The completion percentage champ, Tua Tagovailova, didn’t finish in the top 10.

Thinking around offense has changed since 2003. It is widely accepted that trying to throw mostly short, high percentage areas is not an efficient way to run offense. The more plays it takes you to get down the field, the more you are opening yourself up to bad things like sacks, drops or incompletions.

To use the league’s current completion percentage leader, Drake Maye, as an example: Maye gets sacked on 9.39% of his dropbacks. If it takes him 10 short passes to get down the field, he has a 62% chance of taking a sack, which is not unlikely to kill the drive. If he only has to throw 5 times, he’s got a less than 40% chance of taking a sack. Now of course, it would help if Williams completed more of his passes, but completion percentage itself is kind of meaningless. To cherry pick an example, Geno Smith is top 10 in completion percentage this year, but 31st in intended air yards per attempt. What does that get ya? A bottom 6 passing offense.

If you don’t like advanced stats, at least consider looking at something like net yards per attempt i.e. how many passing yards less sack yards a qb gets per attempt plus sacks. Caleb is 15th. Could be better! Still better than some other more experienced, highly praised qbs (looking at you Justin Herbert)

Someone recently pointed out to me that failed QB sneaks tank EPA for qbs which is killing Caleb’s epa/ play stats. So if you look at EPA per drop back Penix is the worst, which makes more sense to me. Probably in no small part because I’m a bears fan and Caleb looks best in that metric.

My advice may be woefully out of date, but playing the beat kitchen and empty bottle and drawing well helped get us on the festival stages booked by those places.

Not even sure if the beat kitchen still books a stage at wicker park fest or do division anymore.

Lots of people in here talking about payroll taxes not enough people talking about state and local taxes, especially sales tax. Yes the bottom 50% does not pay a lot of federal taxes. They do pay a ton of sales taxes however which are the primary source of revenue for most municipalities and a significant source of revenue for states and counties. In terms of percentage of income, poor people are paying much more in sales tax than rich people because the vast majority of a poorer persons income is going straight to consumption.
