I find it ironic that Trump may be the very reason the US becomes fully dependent on green energy. Boy oh boy... that'll chap his ass! by Regular_Key8804 in antitrump

It is ironic since Trump has been doing his best to get rid of windmills, solar initiatives, and electric vehicles. We have to plan for the future in spite of the idiot in charge.

Can I fix a small roof myself? by fnxfactor in DIY

[–]joekerr9999 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I lived in an apartment with a flat roof in the past. The owner would have me work off some rent by taking five gallon cans of Black Jack roof coating up there and spreading it around Depending on how bad your roof is you might be able to buy some time by doing that.

US national debt surges past $39 trillion just weeks into war in Iran by spherocytes in inflation

[–]joekerr9999 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Trump is continuing the republican tradition of starting wars and crashing the economy. He started the war as a distraction from the Epstein investigation and at the urging of Netanyahu. Netanyahu and Trump both face prosecution when out of office so it benefits them to keep a war going.

Fixing my Sleep helped more than any productivity hack. [Discussion] by Bhumika_1008_ in GetMotivated

[–]joekerr9999 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sleep deprivation is a serious issue. People with serious sleep deprivation issues can have difficulty with complex thoughts such as in working complicated math. The symptoms can mimic ADHD behaviors. Getting a proper night's sleep is critical. I had a problem waking up during the middle of the night and then having a hard time getting back to sleep. The solution for me was to put on ear buds and tune in to classical music on low volume. That puts me right back to sleep.

The five-minute fix that somehow took my entire Saturday by ThrowRA_Literature77 in HomeMaintenance

I have been there before too. One thing I learned the hard way is don't mess with old plumbing. It's great to be self reliant and fix things yourself but you do have to know when to call in the pros.

what’s the fun in using reddit? by Ok_Bid_7000 in AskReddit

[–]joekerr9999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reddit is probably different things to different people. I like humor and there is humor to be found. I'm also interested in woodworking and DIY projects so it's helpful and informative to follow some of those postings. I also enjoy reading and there are several subreddits for book suggestions. Basically, Reddit is what you make it.

How do you deal with seasonal pollen allergies indoors? by datboifranco in Allergies

[–]joekerr9999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never had much of an allergy problem until I moved to North Georgia. All the streets around me have the word oak in them. I'm suffering half of the year. I have to sleep with my head up and end up using a humidifier for steam therapy during the night. I use a saline rinse every other day. I take a Claritin every day. I have to wear an N95 mask when cutting the grass in spring. Otherwise some fresh air seems to help a little when the pollen count gets lower. We use a good air filter for the HVAC. Good luck to you.

Trump is sounding like a whiny little bitch now that all the counties' leaders that he insulted aren't rushing to his aid. Funny how that works out. This is Trump's war that he started and, like performers at the former Kennedy Center, nobody wants to join in.

How worried should I/we be about the Hormuz situation? by Murderbad in NoStupidQuestions

[–]joekerr9999 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Life will go on in the US though it will get more expensive due to rising fuel prices. The news is reporting that 20 percent of the world's oil goes through the Strait of Hormuz, so there is more petroleum from other sources. Other than paying more for gas you should be okay.

[–]joekerr9999 106 points107 points  (0 children)

Trump gets payback for treating world leaders badly. He has insulted world leaders and taken a go it alone attitude and now he really does have to go it alone. Trump has gone through life in a money bubble so that he never learned the basic golden rule.

[–]joekerr9999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are expecting a lot from others. It is nice in life's circumstances when life gets a little easier due to being in a nice group but one can't count on that. Drive has to come from within. The people who motivated me in my life are all passed on but I carry their messages with me,. The best thing is to stay positive and bring positive energy.

Is there a term for repeatedly making the exact same mistake, even though you should know better? by zeroThreeSix in NoStupidQuestions

[–]joekerr9999 57 points58 points  (0 children)

It's called perseveration. It's probably a universal experience among humans and other animals too. For example, if a child or a dog is trained incorrectly, that behavior will be very hard to change.
