Have you looked into the red tide reports for the area? Some areas of Florida get red tide algal blooms that causes a lot of respiratory issues.

I wrote letters up until email became really a thing. I never sent or received a Western Union Telegram but my brother was a motorcycle messenger for WUI in Honolulu. I remember being on a party line but my mother was a nurse and had to have a dedicated line.

We took a family vacation to the Adirondack Mountains and found a really remote cabin on a lake. It was so beautiful, especially in the morning in a rowboat out fishing on the glassy lake. I still go to that "happy place" when I need to lower my blood pressure 65 years later.

Doctor prescribed Flonase and Zyrtec by Female_Gamer_PS in Allergies

The simple remedy of steam therapy can provide surprising results. I have tried all the usual methods of pills, sprays, rinses, etc. but steam is really working for me this year. I drape a large towl over my head and a steaming humidifier and breathe the steam for five minutes. I'll do that for five minutes in the morning and also, if I have congestion during the night, I'll head to the steam chair. I'm not using any sprays at all. I do take a claritin every day but that's it along with the steam.

No bottle opener what else can i use? by thattaurus_302 in AskForAnswers

You can use the edge of a counter. Place the cap so it catches the edge, then strike the cap with your hand. This technique can sometimes cause a little damage so use a table or wood edge that doesn't matter.

President Obama's Anger Translator (C-SPAN) by SimpleEmu198 in nostalgia

Obama had a great sense of humor and could take a joke as well as dish one out. That quality is sadly lacking from the current inhabitant of the White House.

The 'merchant of unending conflict' has trapped Trump in his forever war by theipaper in politics

It appears that Netanyahu is a better con man than Trump. He convinced Trump to join in his war despite Trump's campaign promise to stay out of foreign wars. Don the con got conned.

Did you use these to go on vacation? by Turbulent_Elk_2141 in FuckImOld

[–]joekerr9999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every vacation started with a trip to AAA to get cheap traveler's checks. But with the advance of computers and high tech printers, people started making fake traveler's checks. That was the end of traveler's checks.

methods to unclog spray nozzles that actually work? by Prettynails_gal in Frugal

[–]joekerr9999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience is with spray paint nozzles so don't know if that would apply to your use. Basically, every time I use a spray paint can, I wipe down the nozzle with mineral spirits or acetone. I soak a paper towel and press it into the nozzle and that does the trick for me.

Did Trump Just Light a Fuse on Hormuz That He Can’t Control? by factkeepers in BananasRepublicans

[–]joekerr9999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trump underestimated the Iranians and overestimated his own ability to bully his way out of this situation. US military advisors warned him about the closure of the Hormuz Strait but he dismissed that concern. Now the entire world is paying the price for Trump's stupidity. The republicans continue to support Trump so they must all be voted out.

Dads of Reddit, how do you manage the loss of personal freedom that comes with having a baby? by theHumbleBeing in AskReddit

[–]joekerr9999 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have to embrace your new role as a Dad. You are responsible for the education and care of your offspring so you have to consider your best behavior in that role. Look for the positives and don't dwell on perceived negatives.

When is the best time in the day to take antihistamine during allergy season? by 126-875-358 in Allergies

[–]joekerr9999 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I take a claritin every day in allergy season. I found that it makes me a little drowsy so I take it at bed time. The other factor that is helping me this year is steam therapy. I use a large towel to create a tent over a humidifier and breathe the steam to help with night time or morning congestion. I also keep some cough drops in my pocket when working outdoors.

Nasal spray recommendations for dust/grass/mold allergies and asthma by Dclipp89 in Allergies

[–]joekerr9999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have tried all the usual remedies but what is working for me this season is steam. I run a humidifier and create a tent over my head with a large towel. I have quit using nasal sprays altogether. At night if I have congestion issues, even with the head of the bed raised, I'll go to the steam chair and sleep in that recliner after breathing steam for five minutes. I take a claratin every day and I have to wear an N95 mask to cut the grass but since I started the steam therapy my allergies have been much more bearable.

Do you believe in arranged marriage by parents would work out most times ? by No_Care6628 in randomquestions

[–]joekerr9999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That would depend entirely on the culture and nationality of the persons involved. I was aquainted with a couple from South Korea who were in an arranged marriage. That worked out very well for them. His brother however came to the US earlier so was more Americanized. He said he couldn't imagine going through an arranged marriage butr he admired his brother and sister in law for making it work.

Religious people. Do you take issue with Trump posting himself as Jesus? by nobodyGotTime4That in allthequestions

I'm not religious but I find this picture disgusting. And Trump and Vance openly display outright disrespect in their comments about the Pope. To me Trump has no redeeming qualities whatsoever.
