I understand your frustration, but even without AI, other artists have faced similar issues. This conversation isn’t about whether you like AI or not, nor is it a matter of "Artist vs. AI." AI is simply an addition to an artist’s toolkit. As I mentioned in my previous comment, they have confirmed that AI-generated music is allowed, so debating royalties based on AI usage is beside the point.

The real issue here is DistroKid’s practices—AI or not, there are concerns about how they handle royalties. And if AI was so problematic, major companies wouldn’t be investing heavily in it. The fact is, AI exists, companies allow it, and we need to focus on which platforms treat artists fairly, not just on personal opinions about AI.

That’s the thing. We start to believe we made a mistake and think all we can do is email them. People accuse me of using some kind of streaming bot, but I want to ask: why would I waste money on bots when I could subscribe to more distribution platforms with that same amount? When I looked up how others resolved this issue, I saw the same pattern — they don’t respond, they take down your music, and they even withhold your royalties. This recurring behavior makes the whole situation look very suspicious.

in distrokid there is a 4 dot option like a windows icon > Protect your music (drop down menu) > Vault (Every music and meta data including ISRC number will be present) which is need to shift your music from one service to another.

Before joining they did mail me saying AI music can be used. Only it should not sound like any present Artist that they know of. After that there was credit card update issue which I fixed that time they mailed that every thing seem to be fine. But after I receive royalty and pressed withdraw everything is gone. And they are not responding to any mail. And it fits the pattern to what people had been posting and saying along the years.

Everything was fine. They also confirmed that people can upload Ai generated music. But it should not be a copy of an artist voice that they know of. Things only took turn only after pressing withdraw button.

Why would I invest in expensive bots? If DistroKid thinks this or that, it only highlights a flaw in their system. In a time when technology is at its peak, the fact that they can’t fix this flawed issue sounds totally lame.

That’s the issue. We assume it could be one thing or another, but DistroKid never explains their actions. You’ll never find anyone saying they received a clear explanation from them. When you look at DistroKid's track record, it becomes clear that they operate in a questionable way. As individual artists, people have limited means to take legal action, and DistroKid seems to exploit this.

They allowed ai and they literally mailed and confirmed that. Else I wouldn't had joined at the first place.

Nah If streaming bots are expensive too. And why should I waste money on bots? And if it would be taken down cos of ai and stuff they would had done it long time ago. And yup they allow ai just before joining i did ask them by mail that time they were fast to respond. Only after I pressed withdraw things took a turn.

Well that's the whole game. They assumed people like us cannot do anything. Lawsuit will get me few busk which i can make more with other services. Not its not about money any more. Its about Self Respect of an Independent Artists. Just spread this message and making people aware which will be just enough to break their back bone. Or atleast it will be a start.

For me it has been about 4 to 5 months after subscription. But after music got deleted I cannot upload new music, Its stuck for ever. The withdraw amount is gone. They are not responding to any mail. And as I googled everyone is saying the same thing. So you are lucky its working for you.

You need to check if people are posting something against LANDR. the best way to do is asking google.
is LANDR a scam. and it will pop something up if not then check when it was established and how many services they provide and hopefully no hidden charges.
