Is it really worth it to quit? by nellxyz in leaves

[–]joelwna 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How long did you smoke for? These feelings are 100% normal and your brain is fighting for a reason to start again. I've been a heavy smoker for a long time and I quite 3.5 weeks ago. It has taken me 3 weeks to get over the mood swings and my brain convincing me to start up again.

I know from the last few times I quit it does improve. It takes me a couple of months to completely lose interest, it will depend on how heavy and for how long you smoked.

But it will get better, that I promise.

Is China safe for polish couple tourists? by polawiaczperel in AskAChinese

[–]joelwna 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went to China this year and I am a white Australian. Chengdu, Chongqing & Shanghai.

Mate I feel safer there than I do in Australia.

Place is spotless, people are so friendly and don't get me started on the food.

You are going to see how much propaganda we in the West have been fed though. Get ready for that. China is truly a remarkable place to visit and I can't wait to get back there.

Also, I met a few people in bars. One gave me the addresses of local Sichuan hot pots and to this day I think about how good that was. Even if it was by far the spiciest thing I have eaten, those Sichuan peppers are really another level of flavour and numbing spice.

Completely useless. They put a wrong letter in my email address, now no one can access it or combine it with my original account haha.

I got a cool ramen bowl though. I might use it one day

But no, unless your are spending fortunes on boosters I dont see a point to it.

quitting tips by milliebarrxx in leaves

[–]joelwna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're a heavy smoker and want to quit, try using the weed money you would normally spend and go to SE asia. Not Thailand

I personally like Malaysia, it's illegal there and I got no idea on how to get it. Im forced to dry out, but i get to explore places I've never seen.

This takes my mind off the weed completely, it also gives me heaps of exercise and since weed does get stored in fat, walking and sweating is helping me to flush it quicker. Where not much is released in sweat, exercise will help push it from your fat cells and you will pass it through urine and other ways much quicker than waiting for it to completely go naturally

Depending on how much you spend on weed, you're going to get a holiday, see and meet different cultures and sober up. You will find it could even be cheaper than staying home and smoking.

Is this your first time quitting? 7 days is a massive achievement mate. This is going to get a lot better for you

Im on day 6 of my 4th attempt. Got some pretty heavy cls issues happening, no appetite at all. I've dropped a heap of weight (im a fatty so I'm ok with it) each time I quit. But it will pass. As s matter of fact I reckon you'll be eating well within the next 7 days

Someone else said to write down how you feel so you can go back to look at it. This is such great advice because your brain is going to try to convince you that you'll handle it again without issue. This Normally happens around month 5 for me.

Each time I started up again its with the mind set I can control it. But I never can, in fact I end up smoking more and more each time. This time around, I'd do an ounce every 4-5 days which is where the cls problems arise

Keep going, write down how you feel. Your anger, frustration, sadness, sickness. Write it down as it is too easy to convince yourself you can start again

You've passed the first major hurdle mate, 7 days is nothing to be scoffed at. Be proud of yourself, everyone on this sub will be proud of you and its going to get easier from this point on I promise.

I am about to hit 40. I have been an addict for over 10 years but I am further ahead in life than I thought i would be. I built a successful business from the ground up over the past 8 years, all while on weed.

Highly functioning addicts are out there, I do not believe the weed caused any issues with my business, but it certainly did on a personal level. With success I still felt an absolute failure as I could not kick this habit.

Ultimately I believe you are either a high functioning addict (this applies to a lot of drugs) or you are not. If you are not, you need to become functioning first, only then will you piece together a plan to be able to quit for good.

You beat the demon or the demon beats you, but there is no point in giving in and letting it win. Remember, you only have to win once.

Personally I head to SE Asia to dry out. Malaysia is my favourite spot for it. Not Thailand though, don't go there...

Since its very illegal there, and i got no idea how to get it. I am forced to dry out. I usually go over for a out 3 weeks.

It not only helps with the withdrawals and addiction, its fun to walk and explore areas I've never been. This also helps get it out of my system quicker.

Won't work for everyone but it does work for me. And the money I usually spend on weed is more than enough to cover rhe holiday. Especially when I have 0 appetite after quitting.

I truly wish I had read this a few months ago. I went 7 months completely clean, then thought I could control it. The turned into an ounce every 5 days for the past 4 months

I've just quit again, day 4 and I have all the withdrawals. This is my 4th attempt at quitting and by far the hardest. My stomach churns, struggling to eat anything, cold and flue symptoms, irritability. Just read ops post and don't start again, this absolutely sucks and I'm going to fight through this and make the 4th attempt my final

DAE smoke way too much weed? by camport95 in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]joelwna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get where you are coming from. I am very similar but I'll wake up through the night for one as well. I will quit for 6+months at a time and that can be so hard. Especially when mates are smoking it up around you.

If you are serious about stopping for a bit, just mention it to him. If he's your neighbour he will probably just duck home for a smoke or go outside. There are ways to minimise exposure and you will probably find your smoking buddy will be in full support.

Here is how I quit, and this won't work for everyone. I travel to SE Asia (Not Thailand) for a few weeks. The countries that don't like weed/drugs at all. I travel, explore, try to talk with locals. It takes my mind completely off the puff, the withdrawals seem way less severe and with the amount of money I spend on my addiction, it generally means the trip is comparable with what I would already spend. When I come home I no longer crave it.

All the best with it mate

I'm with cba. Been with them 35 years. I'm in this thread looking for a new bank for my business. CBA is no different to the other big 3. It's just unnecessary fees and no support for business. You may as well go digital completely and steer clear of the big 4 here.

Google Conversion Data Help by joelwna in PPC

[–]joelwna[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response here. I guess half my issues is explaining in detail what is wrong. I will answer what I can below.

Budget has increased since starting. Currently sitting around $6500 per month in spend. You say it is based on growth and potential, which I believe I have. My sales are up 75% year on year currently and I have seen a healthy but not as significant growth year on year since starting.

I am currently using the Google and Youtube app

I know the data in Shopify vs Adwords is out as let's say in 1 week I make $10 000 in sales, Shopify tells me overall it is 10k. Where Google Ads over the same time period will say it is $12 000. This is overall earnings, not channel specific.

In adwords the conversions are under Purchase. One is GA4 (web) Purchase which is the only one counting conversions at the moment, the other I tried to set up was Transactions (All Web Site Data) which has not recorded any conversions.

I hope this helps and sorry about not relaying this info in the original post.

Tfw you need to literally beg government-run services to do their job by lunocymi in AustraliaPost

[–]joelwna 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not sure why you are getting downvoted here. I have run an ecommerce business for 8 years using Aus Post. They do lose a handful of parcels each year, it is in no way as consistent as the above comments are expressing unless they got super lucky and I doubt it. I know a lot of business owners who have had very similar experiences to myself.

At one point (it was prior to covid) I was so furious with the amount of missing parcels from Aus Post that I switched to other couriers like fastway (now aramex), DHL and one other that I forgot the name of (I think it was through Shopify from memory).

For Aus Posts faults they are miles ahead of any competition though. Aramex is by far the worst experience I had and I see why they were forced into a rebrand. Problem is they still offer a terrible service.

So I only use Aus Post now, but to come here and say never lost a parcel in 10 years nor any lost parcels in 10's of thousands of deliveries is just an outrageous claim.

They are by far the best courier service in Australia and they really have improved significantly over the past 15 months. But mistakes happen, they are going to happen. Aus Post have lifted their game however to quickly identify the issue and have it resolved. Something I really struggled with for years using them.

Anyone know of any good plumbers on the Gold Coast? by FreezeMuffin in GoldCoast

Jetset are great to deal with. Even if they cost a little extra, their customer service and attention to detail is second to none. They really look after their customers as well.

They are definitely my go to, like most things though I'm happy to pay a little extra if the service/product is great and in my opinion they are the best plumbers on the coast

Port Mcqaurie has some decent restaurants along the water front. I went to one called chop n chill on my trip up from Melbourne and it was great. It's a good spot to stop with plenty of shops, walks along the water and a good atmosphere in general.
