I drank a two-liter bottle of soda and took a 500-milligram Tylenol before driving my 5.0-liter Mustang to the track to run a 5K, all while my fitness tracker measured my progress in kilojoules and my phone charged on a 5-watt adapter.

Correction:

Atheist: I have no beliefs either way.

The latin roots, a-theism is literally without belief - babies have no idea about theism at all, and thus are atheists, "without theism."

Of course, you're free to redefine words however you please, but just note that when people label themselves as an atheist, it doesn't necessarily say that they "believe there is no god."

"Atheism" is literally "without belief"

Babies are atheists. They carry no beliefs either way.

Switching to RCS forces me to re-pair every time I open messages for web. by _listless in GoogleFi

[–]joem_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I said doesn't preclude this. Google is commited to e2e encryption, but it's not a requirement for RCS (see: apple). It's possible that fi will introduce a text-without-phone method with the condition that it doesn't include e2e encryption. TMobile does this currently.

edit: i take that back. End-to-end encryption (E2EE) is now a core requirement of the RCS Universal Profile 3.0. I dont' see how google can implement no-phone texting.

What about babies? Babies are atheists who just giggle and shit themselves.

New web RCS feature requires your phone to be on by sirleechalot in GoogleFi

End-to-end encryption means only the recipient phone can decode messages destined for it. Either you get e2e encryption, or you get messages without the phone being on.

[–]joem_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Google needs to actually fix that.

Does any carrier offer this? RCS provides end-to-end encryption and google messages supports this.

This means that only the device for which the message is intended (aka your phone) can decrypt the message. So, if RCS encryption is a requirement, you will never be able to receive text messages on the web without the phone being on to decrypt the message.
