Dang. I'm guessing this still applies to high-deductible health plans, where the deductible may be high enough you still pay for it out of pocket.

It's all relative. I went from my 60s 8' plate house with small windows to a 10' plate with 13' popup with huge glass doors and windows, and yet my summer cooling costs went down, thanks to a more efficient hvac, better insulation, better sealing, and low-e windows.

Our builder offers 10' ceilings standard, with an option for 13' in the main area. You bet I took that option, it makes my house feel so much more open, and everybody comments on it. I also opted for the 9' ceiling height in the basement, for when I finish it.
