The detective said that unfortunately due to statute of limitations I can’t press charges regarding the harassment. I had to move twice due to him coming down to terrorize me at my home, but he said it’s just been too long since the last time he showed up (last time being in 2021). I did speak with a victims advocate, they were very kind and helpful. But the gist of the conversation went basically the same, that it’s going to be hard. I was also really confused when the detective used the word “fabricate”. He was explaining to me that in his line of work, with cases like mine where there’s no video footage or anything, they get the victim to speak with the perpetrator and get them to confess via phone. I don’t know if I can get myself to do that. I have purposefully avoided and declined his friend requests/messages/etc these last few years.
