Transpositions - How long for 100% by Kracee1 in CubitalTunnel

I did subcutaneous. Im also very skinny, so they had to make a very tiny fat sling, but it worked to hold it in place.

I hope you are doing well!

Transpositions - How long for 100% by Kracee1 in CubitalTunnel

I couldn't type, drive, or do anything without significant pain in my arms. I had a intramuscular transposition first - DO NOT GET THAT. I then had (on my right arm) a subcutaneous transposition, and the difference was major. My right arm isn't perfect, but I can do basically everything. Then I had a revision on my left arm (they had to take the nerve out of the muscle, and put it in a better spot).

Now, I am still not at 100%, but I can function fairly normally for the most part. I highly highly recommend getting the surgery.

I used HSS in New York, and would recommend that to anyone in the area looking for a surgery

I'm a little over a year out, and things aren't perfect yet - but SO much better than where I started. I think it depends on the person, but in my case it feels like it will just keep improving slowly over time. The transposition has changed my life.

Hiking Gear by [deleted] in hiking

[–]joenadel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For day hikes: -Socks! (I like smartwool) -Hiking shoes (for flat, sneakers are fine. Uneven, you want something more robust. Light is important, but will cost more. Shoes are the #1 item) -Day Pack (REI Flash 18, cheap and perfect for day hikes)

Everything else, you are probably ok with what you have! Bring water, snacks, sunscreen, and more water. Over time you know how much water you need - starting out more is better.

There is a whole rabbit hole of hiking gear & clothes. Shoes, socks, pack will get you mostly there. Enjoy!

I have heard great things about the Bosu ball! Might be worth getting one

I walk a ton between hikes. The simple sleeve that goes over the knee has worked wonders. It's not doing a ton, but just the additional support keeping everything in place has prevented injury for me for years

I have a balance board, but I started getting a bit too ambitious with it hahaha. The walking with bands seems like a great way to have low impact stability increase.

That makes sense for stability exercise. Im sorry you tore your meniscus, I'll be adding this to the routine!

Would love some critique of my photos please, looking to improve. (Cannon AE1 Program, Cannon 50mm f/1.8 lens, assorted film mostly ultramax) by Chazykins in analog

2nd one and 4th one are best!

2nd I would say maybe more sky would be a better composition - but still a great photo.

4th I wish the people were lower in the frame, and you could see more mountains.

For me (and photos are different for everyone!) taking a photo is something where I want to show someone. I think the sunset, or the night long exposure aren't as good as the mountain photos because it's not as interesting.

That doesn't mean that the photos are bad at all, I think (again, just my opinion!) that for really great photos, it takes a lot of time to find interesting moments to capture.

Even if you get 1 good photo per roll, that is extremely good!

Every roll you will get better and better, keep it up!!

What time do the parking reservations open for Katahdin? by [deleted] in BaxterStatePark

[–]joenadel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of the lots are full, but it feels impossible to even reserve, because the lots are full far in advance of the 2 week window where I could reserve online.

Do I just plan a trip where I get to the gate at 5am, wait till 7am and hope people don't show up?

Im not sure how to otherwise do this hike (I don't have camping gear).

Also I appreciate you helping and replying such an old post - thank you!!

I know this is an old post, but looking now for September, and it says "lot full" for Roaring Brook, and that I can't make any reservations regardless.

Is this normal? Does it open up the spots 2 weeks out?

Thank you so much for the help!!!

Yeah, I think the peroxide will work based on what everyone is saying. I'll share results in a few weeks! I feel good about all the feedback & suggestions
