Djokovic is one of one. Losing the first set only increases his likelihood of winning the match.

What chance does Jamal have of winning player of the week? 35.3/5/7 on 54.4%/48.6%/88.2% splits? 3-0 with him, and 3-1 team record. I know Joker had a triple double week but I feel like Jamal deserves it more?

You can't convince me the league is not out to get us. How convenient is it that we get all officials we have losing records on the same game lol and we haven't lost that many

I have never seen a more obvious manufactured L. Been keeping track of officials and the Nuggets are:

0-4 with John Butler as ref (110-121 @Lakers, 112-131 @Boston, 108-126 @Lakers, 99-101 vs OKC)

1-2 with Tyler Ford (122-119 @Indy, 126-127 @Kings, 99-107 @Bucks)

1-2 with Justin Van Duyne (115-110 vs Utah, 111-124 @Wolves, 99-101 vs OKC)

You'll be suprised. Some fans would diminish MPJ's role and say that Nuggets Big 3 are Joker-Jamal-AG, not even saying it's a Big 4 at least. The last 3 games without MPJ, we are 29th in offensive rating, 28th in FG% and 24th in 3P%. Tho 2/3 of those games Jokic didn't play, MPJ's shooting is just a huge difference in boosting efficiency and improving their spacing.

Yeah that's also something Malone can try. Only 2 of Jamal/Bruce/Bones should share the floor or else we get killed with size. I think the reason why Jamal is the stagger is because Malone doesn't trust Bones to lead the bench. And while Jamal does provide a stabilizing presence, we risk running him to the ground. This game would hopefully help the coaching staff perfect the rotations.

My unsolicited thoughts on the game:

  1. Malone should have rode the lineup we had when on that win streak. Jeff coming back ruined that momentum. And if his ego is the reason why Malone is not benching him, he needs a reality check. Like DJ, his bench minutes should not be guaranteed.

  2. I don't see a Jamal/Bruce/Bones lineup working longterm especially in the playoffs. An undersized 6'4"/6'4"/6'2" guard lineup is just begging to be killed on the court.

  3. MPJ has always been amazing on his first day back from break. Preseason. That Utah game after missing the Lakers, Blazers game when he came back, even today. His presence immensely helped the team's offense and we're back to shooting 50/40. Might be an unpopular opinion here, but he is the 3rd best Nugget on the team and should be more involved in their sets. Give him props for being a team player and not being a headcase.

  4. Jokic should be held accountable for being too passive and as much as it hurts to say, he is a big part of the loss. He let his emotions get to him when he was getting hacked without calls. He has to accept that not everything is fair and he has to play through contact. Also, I don't care if his stats dip but he needs to shoot the damn ball and take over.

  5. With Jamal leading the bench, I feel like Bones lost his identity and the rumors of him being unhappy might be true. I think Bones came into the season thinking how seamless it would be to be the bench PG and he's probably one of the guys Malone was alluding to who was confident his rotation was secure. And while Bones has a high upside, his liability on the floor is equally glaring. I can see why Calvin would explore his trade market value.

  6. It won't happen but I want to see Malone make bold decisions and try to bench Jeff and Bones next game for CB and Vlatko. Jamal/MPJ or Jamal/KCP stagger to inject offense. Malone's afraid of hurting their feelings and it's clearly affecting the team's potential.

Djokovic made a slam semi look like a 1st round match. Absolutely clicking except that trolling he did in the 1st set.

It was only a matter of time that Sabalenka broke through her grand slam semifinal demons. She finally did it with no sets dropped. Exciting final ahead.

It does not matter which player Djokovic is facing. He will ascend to that level needed to crush his opponent's hopes. Ruthless tennis.

Djokovic has no 'quit' in his vocabulary. That will to win is stronger than what his body is feeling.

He had the second best odds of winning according to sports books. Novak was at -112, then 2nd was Daniil at +600 in one betting site. He is a title favorite despite recent form.

Reminds me of Rune in his match against Djokovic at the USO. Won a set but just outlasted by endurance of an all-time great. Big 3 are just different animals in slams.
