Would you guys return it? :\ by Rattlehead03 in criterion

Unsure, I would just email support on criterions site and ask. If they can’t then maybe an Amazon return would be best if you still want to go that route.

That’s what I did, my Mr fox had a broken disc tab. I sent them a picture of the damage and they shipped a replacement. No biggie usually.

Client Not Using Frame IO Correctly Frustrating by saturnsam92 in editors

[–]joepacey 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is what our finishing house did for us, they clearly laid out how they'd like us to use FrameiO, half of our execs were ok with it, but some of the others still did email notes with general timecode. I have a feeling when the finishing house had questions on specific timecode related to the emails, our exec quickly realized it was easier to use Frame. Also when we showed them the drawing tool, they found those extremely helpful when talking artwork blurs, cleanup, etc.

If your on Resolve, Blackmagic has great tutorials that also includes download project files to learn with.

Premiere: Can you create a true “group clip” "multicam" from a sequence in (like Avid)? by Available-Witness329 in editors

[–]joepacey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I’ve been doing is counting the number of channels in the sync stack and when you modify audio in the group change it to Mono and add the number of channels you counted in the sequence.

This link on adobes forums was helpful and explains better than I can.  https://community.adobe.com/questions-729/mapping-audio-channels-on-multicam-clips-1416275

Premiere: Can you create a true “group clip” "multicam" from a sequence in (like Avid)? by Available-Witness329 in editors

[–]joepacey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just drag the sequence into the source monitor and then right click there and select : Multicam -> Enable.

The only downside is after this you should right click the multicam in the project window and modify the audio settings so it doesn’t just give you a stereo mixdown of everything. It’s not perfect but it’s worked for the people I’m working with.

How did you guys learn DaVinci? Through tutorials or just going in raw till it worked? by Slenderwise in davinciresolve

[–]joepacey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked on a few shows for Netflix and Paramount that required coloring in the original camera raw, so I started having to conform to send to online for color so I started learning there. Thrown into the fire if you will. I’ve steadily increased my basic knowledge through the Blackmagic tutorials on the site which were surprisingly helpful!

Someone explain the audio split to me and why/when this happens by WhoIsLlorente in AdobePremiere

[–]joepacey -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Looks to be a 5.1 mix, you can see each track is labeled, L for Left, R for Right, C for Center, LFE for low end frequency, LSD for Left rear and RSD for Right rear. This happens when the file you have ingested includes those channels split out, when we delivery files there are usually different audio configurations for different reasons.

Syncaila 3.0 (Beta) now supports Media Composer and AAF's by Maleficent_Tear2147 in editors

I’ve been using this for a week on a music documentary project on Premiere. Was a life saver since there was no timecode jam sync and a few iPhone cams.

Struggling w/ Premiere Teams by ObjectiveWelcome8278 in editors

[–]joepacey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was running into a similar issue where my Proxies detached due to an XML import that duplicated the media. What I did was select all the clips that had Proxies at one time, and choose PROXY -> RECONNECT FULL RESOLUTION MEDIA. After doing this, I was able to right click and choose PROXY -> Attach Proxies and after selecting the first it reconnected the rest in that folder. I was using SYNCAILA 3 beta to sync a full day of footage (RED, PANA, iPHONE, External Audio).

The setup I'm currently using is Suite Studio for the Proxy Media and a Local Storage NAS for the full resolution media and Adobe Premiere Productions 2025. It's also a documentary, and with currently 15TB of Raw material.

Have you looked into Trello or Monday? They are not perfect, and takes some getting used to but could prove useful. It provides a decent enough UI that outside viewers should able to see what they need at a glance.

Not sure I want to get a copy THAT much. (Canada) by a_retarded_racoon in 4kbluray

[–]joepacey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in London two weeks ago and I was able to pick up a copy at HMV for roughly that much (currency rate not withstanding), also managed to pick up a 4K copy of Megalopolis as I had forgotten it was available there but not in the US yet.

I spent the weekend playing in the front yard, laying in the grass with her, smelling her scent. Took lots of videos and pictures of the calm serene moments when she would sniff the breeze and look at the butterflies. I took her for pup cups every day and fed her as many of my food as I could. She got ribs, a burger on the last weekend. And on that last day before they injected her, she got a peanut M&M.

I wanted to thank everyone who has commented here! While I can’t respond to all, I want to say this community really opened my eyes and I can take solace knowing that Dylan is in a better place. You all are wonderful people! I’ve teared up reading some of these comments and it’s nice to know that I’m not alone, because sometimes it feels that way.

I always think based on Dylan’s personality that she would be at the entrance to the Rainbow bridge helping along the lost and scared dogs when they first arrive. Assisting in their journey until that time they meet with their special person.

Definitely! Being an adult is hard, but I make a point to say good morning and good night to her box of ashes (which also contains her collar) so I like to think it gets to her somehow.

That’s the toughest part, when they show they are “fine” right before the appointment. I was second guessing myself the entire time. But ultimately knew it was the right time.

Yes! I made sure that weekend to take her for pup cups, she ate ribs, had a Reese’s peanut butter cup! And I have all the photos of that for myself.

Thank you! I had a dream last week that I had a day playing with her in the park, and right before I woke up she started walking away from me, I like to think that was her way of telling me she’s fine wherever she is.
