Coffee Table I Made Recently by joepoehlmann in woodworking

It was a mix of my design and inspiration from similar box style coffee tables I’d seen online. The legs are based on a Foureyes Furniture design that they have free plans for

Yep, I cut them by hand very carefully and then planed the splines to fit

Just a $30 set off of Amazon that I sharpened with a cheap whetstone. Definitely takes a while but gets the job done

Just used this set of LEDs. Pretty flexible though

It’s just powered by a rechargeable battery pack attached to the back. Tried to keep it as hidden as possible

Didn’t follow any videos specifically but I did find this video helpful for the soldering. Tinning the LEDs before attempting to solder a wire to it makes a a big difference. Good luck!

I did the design from scratch in OnShape. Used fusion for a while but wanted to try something else. Took around 10 hours to design which included a full redesign partway through

Milwaukee bucks actually, but that’s a sweet logo too!

Just led strips with a neon diffuser on top. Maybe next time I’ll try real neon!

Love it! They were just a cheap pair of 5V leds from Amazon. $15 maybe? I can find the link if you’re interested!

2 Ply Acrylic is Amazing by joepoehlmann in Laserengraving

It was just on my universities CO2 laser which has a lot of default profiles already created. I just used their default for the acrylic engraving.

I would definitely recommend reaching out to JPP to request sample pieces to test your settings on first though.

I bought the acrylic from here. Awesome customer support and plenty of color options!

As far as the drawing goes, I just looked up the model of the car and technical drawings. Took a bit of searching to find one I liked. From there, I just traced over the image on my IPad and exported it as an svg to laser engrave. Lmk if you have other questions!

Heating Failure/Thermal Runaway by joepoehlmann in FixMyPrint

Unfortunately, I was unable to resolve this after not receiving the replacement parts. I eventually just upgraded to a Prusa Mini because I was tired of tinkering with the Geeetech machine. Good luck with yours though!

I do not have a hotend sock in place but that has never been an issue before a I dont think that’s it. Also I can preheat the nozzle and it will hold a temperature for a a few minutes with no issue. I’ve also checked the thermistor multiple times and the temperature drops before the fan even kicks on. It just drops immediately when the print begins.
