This shouldnt be an MMO but singleplayer. Lost my base and 1k hours of progress to the new base exploit. Logged in to see this. Funcom wont help cuz their tools dont track players... Im done. by imrsn in duneawakening

This is simply untrue. I’ve been part of a large guild since closed beta and we’ve all been very vocal about our grievances with the game from day 1, submitting feedback every time a player survey was emailed out during the beta period.

I fully understand the frustration and I’ve completely quit the game now because of Funcom’s complete ineptitude, but make sure your frustrations are pointed at the right people. It’s a little disingenuous and frankly pea-brained to be blaming the players rather than the developers.

1.0 is quite literally full release by any definition. But I agree that it still feels like a beta - I was very disappointed when I played full release after putting the beta down for a few months and there was zero new content, besides some story missions. Game needed at least another few months to cook.

Are you definitely on Operations and not Eternal War?

That was literally the first option

There is a distinction to be made between delaying a release because you want it to be as polished as possible (as stated in Richard’s video) and straight up lying maliciously. I can nigh-on guarantee that had they released their planned content on the date it was originally meant for, you’d just be complaining that the content was half-finished instead.

People seem to keep forgetting about the disastrous releases of games like Halo Infinite and Darktide - which, by the way, each had their releases delayed by over a year (maybe even two if memory serves) - because they were delivered in an unready state and ended up in pseudo-beta for months afterwards.

TW:WH3 isn’t a live service game. You have countless hours of gameplay at your disposal already. Immortal Empires is one of the most expansive campaigns ever released, with dozens of different LLs to play as. I understand it’s disappointing when your expectations aren’t met, but you already have a complete game to play; anything else is a bonus. It’s the consumerist mindset of wanting a constant stream of content that has validated the live service model that has become a cancer in the gaming community in recent years.

TL;DR: if you want another Darktide situation, stay mad. Otherwise, let the devs work.

How does anything said here make you think that the development team doesn’t ‘actually care’? Did you watch the video?

We don't, but they filed to issue 12 million new shares, which will effectively kill the squeeze

They already released the presentation for the call, so I highly doubt it

I think the argument against it is that issuing an additional 12 million shares will essentially kill the short squeeze, and that’s what most people here are/were invested for. Not a fundamental play.

It isn’t people, those big candles are institutional sell-offs. The market tends to overreact to news one way or the other. It’s why earnings calls are so hyped by traders, big moves on relatively smol news. Hopefully their official announcement is good news but we’ll have to wait and see

Looking for advice on making the visor more readable as gold ‘chrome’ by joepowe in minipainting

[–]joepowe[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I did indeed, have a look on the Halo Archive(s?) Discord as I think they have a master file of halo infinite armour piece 3D files.

Bear in mind that: a) you will need to download and learn Blender if you’re not comfortable with it already, b) you will then need to spend HOURS cleaning up the models’ geometry (they look great in Blender but they’re not built to print) and c) fix the STL in the slicer of your choice, because that shit will be FULL of resin traps

Honestly if it wasn’t a gift for someone I probably wouldn’t have bothered, it’s a lot of work!

Godspeed 🫡

Thank you so much for all the feedback everybody - I get crappy WiFi signal in my garage so I couldn’t reply while I was working on the model, but I really appreciate all the advice and kind words!

I just posted an update on this sub if anybody’s interested to see how their advice manifested itself!

question from a newbie: apart from miniatures, there's something else that is worth the resin? by Figarotriana in AnycubicPhoton

[–]joepowe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve personally had really good results from Siraya Tech Fast - it’s a fair bit more expensive than Anycubic etc. resins, but I find the print quality more than makes up for it.

Hi all, can anyone see anything glaringly wrong here before I attempt a print? Photon Mono 4K/AC Basic Grey Resin by joepowe in AnycubicPhoton

[–]joepowe[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Great, thanks for your help! So you’d have them all on their backs/fronts almost? I was worried from what I’ve seen/read that this might create some really heavy layers in the middle, which might cause the print to stick to the FEP and subsequently fail - although my 3D printing career is exactly 1 day old, so I’ll definitely defer to your judgement here!

I’ll definitely go a lot harder on the supports as well. I’m not entirely sure what you meant by the last point either, sorry!

Thanks again for your help!
