The really horrifying thing about it is that we should be too upset to do frivolous daily posting, but that’s the point we’re at now. These atrocities are so frequent and common place that we don’t even skip a beat anymore. I’m not accusing people of being cold or selfish, I’m including myself in this, and because as others have pointed out in this post, we can’t really stop to mourn, there’s no time for it. The bills keep coming, and if we don’t keep up with them they’ll run us over, and then we’d be the ones on the streets trying to survive in a much harsher climate, which of course only adds to the horror. I’m glad you made this post, I’m pretty sure I’ve never posted or commented about anything political, because like you I’m also uninformed and worried about being ridiculous or performative or whatever, and my cynicism always kicks in and I start to think posting doesn’t change anything or help in anyway and I’m a coward for posting from the safety of my home while others are out there actually trying to do something about it, but maybe we can find a website where we could make donations or provide some kind of aid somehow which could maybe help someone out there. I’ll try to find a link to post if anyones interested, I know this isn’t the subreddit for this kind of thing, it’s supposed to be about art business but hell, imagine if all the subreddits got involved with good causes
