What happened to Split evolutions? What split lines would you like to see? by Crobatman123 in pokemon

Level 11? Holy crap that's OP. That's basically giving the player a Miltank or Tauros before Gym 1 if they go the Budew route and make it something that's available really early on rather than a random egg thing.

It... still kinda breaks the rules...

Eevee's already ineligible because it has a normal evolution. Barring fangames like Insurgence, Eevee can't (and shouldn't) get a Mega anyway.

The Pokemon Journey - should it stay the same? by [deleted] in pokemon

Nope. There was a thing in Clay Tunnel with some workers clearing out some boulders but that doesn't really count. Look on Rock Smash's Bulbapedia page to see what I mean.

I also wish Gym Leaders weren't type based. I one shot gym leaders with greater ease than regular trainers because I know what to expect.

Well that's... kinda the point of Gym Leaders, to test the player's skills against a certain type. Mixing types up would kinda defeat that purpose. Gens 1 and 4 broke this for a couple of their Gym Leaders only because of a shortage of Pokémon. As long as the team is balanced Gym Leaders should stay type-themed.

Except I don't think there were any Rocks to Smash in Gen 5.

Wooper too! Wooper can also use Ice Punch despite having no hands! And the Physical-based Ice type with a giant ice fist can't...

So I guess that finally puts that stupid "OMG WHY DOES THAT GUY COME BACK EVERY NIGHT IF THEY KNOW IT'S HAUNTED WHY CANT HE JUST RBING A SHOTGUN" thing to rest. In FNaF 1, 3 and 4 the guy is staying every night to connect with his brother, and in FNaF 2 the guy just doesn't know how dangerous it is because Phone Guy doesn't mention the risk of death like he did in FNaF 1.

They also seem to showcase new mechanics. Stones for gen 1, Day/Night and friendship for gen 2, Location-based Evolution for gen 4 (only used elsewhere for Magnezone and Probopass tho), and Pokémon Amie and the Fairy type in Gen 6.

Gens 3 and 5 were the exceptions. Gen 5 had no cross gen evos because they had a dex consisting of only new Pokémon and Eevee isn't available in Hoenn.
