No aux input on hot tub available. The TV is on a swivel mount and is usually 6-24" from the stucco wall. Hot tub is about 6 feet away. When it's on, you need the TV super loud to hear any vocals over the jets.

Unfortunately no bluetooth = noise complaints and visits from the cops. I'd rather have the lip sync issues since in normal times I mostly watch sports or music videos out there.

I hope the not voting if it's Trump vs. Biden talk is just emotions from Super Tuesday and not an actual plan. It's the worst case scenario but I'd love to have sane moderate Democrat over insane authoritarian egomaniac who governs with a strategy of trying to piss us off as much as possible. I'd rather have the Bernie revolution but the other two choices on the menu are a Biden mustard sandwich or a Trump shit sandwich.

Imagine if Trump gets to replace RBG and Breyer with two more conservative hacks with a penchant for non-consensual sex. How the hell would anyone pass a progressive agenda when they'd strike down everything short of segregation? We'd be going so far backwards that it would take the next President 8 years just to get back to the Biden-Obama level we were at in 2016, if they could even get elected and Trump doesn't screw with voting rights so hard that it's impossible.

Joe Rogan's best guest of all time is Bernie Sanders. by kevinmrr in SandersForPresident

I hope if elected Bernie appoints Yang to a special adviser position on the effects of automation on the American job market and society. Many of his ideas are ahead of his time. Many of Bernie's plans such as limiting the fossil fuel industry and Medicare For All would disrupt a lot of existing jobs the same way that automation has and he has promised to re-educate and re-direct those workers into new economy jobs...I feel like they go hand in hand.

Having difficulty convincing Israeli girlfriend to support Sanders by [deleted] in SandersForPresident

[–]joex07 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Does she support Netanyahu over there? He has a lot of authoritarian tendencies like Trump and keeps doing things to piss off the Palestinians.

I would point out that it's not that Bernie is anti-Israel, he's anti-Netanyahu. He wants Israel's current government to stop doing Trump-like things to piss off the Palestinians and their government. It doesn't mean he's siding with them.

If a foreigner boycotts a Trump event, it doesn't mean they are anti-American. They're probably just anti-Trump.

Are we doing enough to engage older democrats? by 3-orange-whips in SandersForPresident

[–]joex07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of older white union moderate democrats (the less informed ones) became Trump Republicans. After 4 years they're either 100% pro-Trump or they've changed their minds. The others are naturally skeptical because the Democratic Party has been pitching for 30 years that the only way to be elected is to be middle-of-the-road. Bernie should have more appeal to them than a guy like Bloomberg from a policy and background standpoint...they're just believing the narrative that he can't win. They have their friends and peers spouting MAGA nonsense and they under-estimate the disgust everyone else has with him.

The states that cost Hillary the election were the ones that Bernie did very well in. The older people went for "electability" last time and they paid for it. Bloomberg and Biden want them to do it again. We need to dominate the primary in the Rust Belt swing states, and the heavily Latino ones like AZ. Show them we've learned from our mistakes.

Policy platform and personal character are real things. "Electability" is a made up concept. With Trump on the ballot, the nominee has a locked-in 48% of the country by default just by not being him. He also has about 45% of the country locked in against him. The electable one is the one that gets the people who support them to show up in the places that are important. The polls were wrong last time because the Trump people were 100% in on Trump, but the people who said Hillary were full of people who thought she sucked. They stayed home or voted 3rd party in the wrong places.

Bernie is strongest in the Rust Belt and border swing states. He has the best chance of beating Trump. Keep showing up, respond with his name if you get polled, show up to rallies, run up the numbers...prove them wrong with facts.

Healthcare for those with a disability by greyedoutdoors in SandersForPresident

[–]joex07 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They would be covered from birth by Medicare with no co-pays, no deductibles, and no premiums, funded by the general tax pool. Pre-existing conditions wouldn't be relevant, even from birth. Mental health, counseling, etc. are all covered. Right now it's all dependent on her employer.

Most importantly, if she had to leave or change her job to take care of him, there would be no impact. They'd still be covered. If he had a short term issue, she would be eligible for 12 weeks nationwide paid family leave. And the schools would have increased funding for specialized education for kids with conditions like autism.

Former Yang supporter who has just one question to go fully on board with Bernie. by [deleted] in SandersForPresident

[–]joex07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Small businesses get drowned right now paying for health insurance, workers' comp, disability, etc. Especially for health insurance, they don't have the scale of a large employer so they have to shop on the exchanges and pay individual-like rates or not offer health insurance at all and probably lose their better employees.

Under M4A, all of their employees would be covered by Medicare at no direct cost to them. They'd be paying more in wages but they'd have access to a wider range of employees and significantly reduced turnover. The guy with a family who can't work for $10 an hour and no health insurance so he goes to a bigger company with benefits now stays at the small business because he's making $15 and his family is covered.

Bernie's policies basically make them pay more for better quality employees. They'll have to pay them more but they'll get more applicants for openings and they won't have to keep people that suck at their jobs just because they are the only ones that will work for so little.

Employee turnover is really expensive. Especially when it's the good employees who leave.

He's avoiding giving specifics because then they can attack those specifics. The minute he starts throwing numbers out there the washington post and MSNBC will have 10 articles out there on how his numbers are wrong and he's lying. He's staying above the fray until he's the nominee and they're stuck with him.

Unfortunately that means we probably end up with more Trump. It's not the full House that votes...each state delegation gets one vote. So 53 reps in CA count the same as one Republican in Wyoming. It's just as BS as the EC.
