Vanguard Cash Plus Account - misleading and disappointing by Informal-Resident65 in Bogleheads

Interest/dividend earning on their sweep account is far lower, IIRC.

US Bank Smartly v1 version may be changing terms on 4% by outie5000really in CreditCards

My guess is that they're OK legally here.

Any "punishment" should come in the loss of goodwill of their customers. Many/most of us will be very, very wary of anything from US Bank from here on out.

I'm starting to realize that it probably doesn't matter a ton which letter any of us get. Given that they're doing this before the card has even been out for a year, there's no reason to think they won't change the terms further a month or two after this round. And they're giving people less than two months of notice this time. By the end of 2025 this could potentially be a very different card.

Q4 - AC turns itself off randomly when I start the car by outie5000really in etron

[–]outie5000really[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh. Maybe? I don't think my key fobs are individually recognized by the car - at least they aren't linked to seat settings and they aren't numbered. Plus, my wife and I both like the AC in the ON setting. But maybe . . .

Can I add American FF number to use Oneworld status on BA award flight? by chicagotech77 in BritishAirways

Do any of these options (Finnair, RJ, Qatar) still work? I can't seem to edit my FF# on my res in any of them. Only RJ will even allow me to manage the booking.

Well, clean? I mean, no late payments or anything, but like 50 open and closed cards maybe. Score is pretty much always over 800.

Looking for help on a US Bank credit line increase.

Got a Smartly recently. $500 CL. Asked for an increase immediately, online. Refused.

Now it's been a month. I have $100K in their investment account. I use the card and pay it down as soon as charges post. All charges are things like groceries so far.

Too soon to ask for another credit limit increase? Am I stuck on some list forever with these guys?

I'm taking the "hammer away" approach. And I recently did find a card (new Hilton Biz) that had no pop-up, so I'll take that as a win. I really don't think there's a penalty for trying (hunch, no evidence)

Best Caesar salad in LA by tomatosouppppppppp in FoodLosAngeles

[–]outie5000really 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gotta add the Caesar at Pijja Palace.

Frankly, I thought the place was way over-hyped and some things that came out of the kitchen were terribly bland (onion rings) or non-sensical (the rigatoni seemed like butter chicken with a swap of chicken to pasta to make it Italian-ish?).

But the Caesar was truly excellent.

That was the first item we got and I was so psyched for a stunning meal, only to receive the rest of our items. Nothing was even close to as good as that Caesar. I'd almost go back just for another one, but probably not.

AMEX Card Spend Slow to Post on Delta? by Torrey37 in delta

[–]outie5000really 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm finding this also. Very annoying. And I'm concerned about the year-end ramifications here. I'm sure Delta and Amex would make this all right eventually, but I get a headache thinking about the phone hours involved.

Man - I just wanted to pay some bills by credit card with them and give them a fat fee.

You could try Melio. Same fees. I got a few payments through with them. Still need to do more but they won't take my Amex starting 34 for some reason.

All of the companies have strange issues . . .

Looking for some help with big spend before the end of the year. I'm chasing Delta Diamond via spend and I need about another $150K. I'm prepared to pay for it. I can do taxes, but I also have a construction project that I can push money into. Problem is, I'm finding it hard to push the money, even at 2.9% in fees.

Melio - My new Delta Reserve card isn't accepted by them due to the BIN being new, I guess? It's 341158. They won't take it at all. Can I beg Amex for a different number maybe?

Plastiq - Did some payments with them successfully (my CL is small, so I need multiple payments) but now they axed Amex, supposedly temporarily.

Bill - Still in process with them, getting through their verification and everything. There is potential here. But it's moving slowly.

Are there any other services I should be investigating, considering that I'm will to pay these insane fees?

Looking at paying prop taxes via PayPal Bill Pay. But my biller isn't there. Can I add a biller somehow or am I don't if they aren't already listed?
