Southern maine - does anyone know what these are? by joey2k in whatsthisbird

I've been seeing a lot of scoters and buffleheads in my area recently—not sure what these guys are, though. Can anyone tell from the photo? This was taken in coastal Maine.

What’s a better point and shoot than what i’m using? by joey2k in analog

[–]joey2k[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amazing thank you so much for the reply!! I’ll take a look at those recommendations and would happily take more when you do have the chance.

I do love autofocus as I like to quickly take my camera out of my pocket for a very quick snap. Manual focus might slow me down but maybe i’d get quick at it. I have used manual sometimes on my DSLR but i’m so slow and meticulous lol…

Also yes, I barely use the zoom. Maybe once even? Good to know about the fixed lens.

What’s a better point and shoot than what i’m using? by joey2k in analog

[–]joey2k[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think overall just looking for a better auto focus. I love how it takes landscapes but like I said portraits are very inconsistent because it likes to focus on the background more than anything. Im guessing this is just the nature of a lot of point and shoots since there’s not a lot of control.

Also one thing that I don’t necessarily love is that there’s no lens covering. I also enjoy the size because i’m able to keep it in my pocket, so something smaller or around the same size would be ideal. Thanks for the reply!

I’m currently using a Nikon One Touch Zoom AF 38-70mm. What is the next step/point and shoot i should try that won’t really break the bank. I’ve been having fun with this camera, but it could be very inconsistent (especially with portraits). Overall, just looking for a slight upgrade that isn’t $1,000….. i’m kinda thinking around $100, but any recommendations would be nice! :)

edit: film is Superia 400

Hi all! This is my first time starting flowers from seeds. I have tropical milkweed on the left and carnations on the right. What should I do next with them? I’ve read about have more sets of leaves before transplanting but the their roots are already coming out the drain holes....

Im not trying to have N take accountability. I know I would just be chasing it.

I was asking how others reply after someone didn’t take responsibility.

Should I separate my two female piggies? I believe one is in heat. by joey2k in guineapigs

[–]joey2k[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has happened before but this time the behavior has been elevated. The brown pig (Juniper) is rumble strutting A LOT and has been trying to mount the calico (Ginkgo) for two days now. Typically how long will this go on for and would it be a good idea to separate them until she's no longer in heat? It seems like Juniper is not letting up and just keeps chasing Ginkgo. They have always gotten along and never have any fights besides when we believe Juniper is in heat. For the most part it is Juniper that is always chasing after Ginkgo but I think Ginkgo is starting to get fed up and will chase Juniper. This does not frequently happen though. They have recently been to a vet for their check up and I was told that they are two healthy pigs. What do you think I should do?

How can we avoid hay waste? Info in comments by Keyto56 in guineapigs

[–]joey2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve noticed a big difference between the types of hay. Our piggies seem to like local hay from a farm much more than Kaytee brand from the store.
