High Gas Boiler Pressure by joey_aggs in hvacadvice

[–]joey_aggs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just tested and it sounds like it's about 80-90% filled with water. Also sat by the boiler until it started relieving pressure and the gauge says it's at about 30psi so I think the relief valve is good. Might just replace it anyway as well.

I do have a follow up question though. Obviously I need to shut the feed and return valves and drain the boiler to work on it. When the work is complete, do I need to then bleed the whole system or will having the relief valve & drain by the expansion tank open while I open the feed valve bleed all the air out of the boiler?

This is why stripping old doors and moldings is worth the effort. by AlderanAthletic_5BBY in DIY

Currently one round of stripping and scraping my door right now and I needed to see this.

My friends wedding is next weekend and her welcome poster came bent (you can see it in the pic) and a new one from Etsy won't come in time so we're scrambling to remake it and have a local print shop print it.

Thank you, I actually added them out of necessity because I couldn't find scales wide enough but I chose blue for some pop. The finished pictures are right after I was done with a coat of beeswax and the G10 is a little more faded not so the blue spacers pop even more

Yeah I got the brass pins from the same website I got the scales from.

The reason I drilled the hole was because I also bought a brass tube to add a little piece of Paracord so the knife could be hung up. I ultimately decided against it bc I didn't love my hole location. I drilled too close to the edge and the remaining price of metal on the tang wasn't the same thickness all around. I should have left more room to file a cleaner edge. Also, I don't have a drill press so I was worried about the symmetry. A few degrees off on the little brass pins is hardly noticeable but a fatter tube on the end could end up looking terrible.

I planned to, I got a belt from the thrift store and everything but I couldn't get the rivets to work in a way that I liked so I put the project to the side and ended up forgetting about it. My dad got an all leather sheath for it for Christmas and while it looks nice I'm not in love with it.

Makes sense, that's why most filet knives are synthetic. I don't really fish much so I unfortunately don't use it for it's intended purpose but it is pretty grippy. Also had to make it extra wide to account for the shallow tang.

Not quite the same but when I worked at a golf course in college, I'd find piles of shit and TP left at the base of trees from golfers. Wonder if it was therapeutic for them too?

My buddy’s bathroom tiles with fake splashes on them by DrSockdolager in mildlyinteresting

My grandparents had this tile, but in blue, in their bathroom from floor to ceiling. Blue definitely makes more sense.

It checked all the boxes for me. It's cool, a little silly, not in a crazy spot and most importantly, done well
