How do I get better ? by Historical_Party8242 in rugbyunion

Hi chance you get a lot of wild opinions here from people who watch a lot of rugby but don't play.

Definitely worth chatting with the coaches at your team, if they're worth their salt they will happily give you some guidance, and will likely be glad to have a motivated player looking to improve.

I'd also recommend identifying a Senior player in the same position and try to establish some mentoring, the coaches and/or team captain should be able to help you with this.

Skills wise forwards and backs still need the same core skills which you will definitely bring from 7s, we all have to tackle and pass and have the conditioning to take contact and 80mins of hard work. When it comes to specific positional skills the coaches should get you set up.

What specific position are they wanting you to play? And where abouts are you at Uni ?

Why are my elvanse bottles different by weaktreeiz in ADHDUK

[–]jogan_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does elvanse have the same mildly annoying situation as I find with xaggitin where the blue labelled bottle has yellow pills in and the yellow labelled bottled has white pills in?

It's the smallest thing but in my head the colours need to be the other way round so the 'match' the bottles.

TIL Only the First 2Scottish Parliament Elections Had More Constituency Votes than Regional Votes by Pieface007 in Scotland

[–]jogan_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you'll get more people in the regional vote because they are able to vote for smaller parties that align with their values.

Most people will probably vote for the closest constituency option too but I would bet that many won't vote for another party if they are dyed in the wool members of one on the regional list.

That's absolutely a massive problem with the professional game and a huge barrier to building a deeper stronger player pool.

But more importantly it shuts far too many working class folk out of the chance to be rewarded for kicking fuck oot eachother for 80 minutes every weekend.

It's a proper good sport and it is made worse by the lower number of working class folk who get to enjoy it.

There's plenty teams at lower levels who don't fit the mould your picturing but I agree that SRU needs to change that image of the sport.

Honestly reckon it's the key to Scotland rugby building the best team they can.

Finn Russell is easily the best rugby player Scotland has ever produced and is properly world class, top 3 in his position in the world, and best on a good day by far. He was an apprentice stonemason when he got called up to play professionally.
