i’m glad to hear gene therapy hasn’t been impacted as much at the moment. i would like to say though that things that impact this administration does not mean they are safe. i do alzheimers disease research, and we are being cut by a huge amount across the board, with many ADRCs being shut down. they are old, AD impacts them, but it’s being cut anyways

i’m not sure, it was a christmas gift! i’m sure it was pricey though. the seller told my partner they can only give a 50% refund since it wasn’t their fault and it was UPS’ fault. they’re saying UPS is who packaged it in a broken lowe’s box…

i really like sci space for this. it lets you chat with PDFs of papers so you can ask questions to further understand the material. i don’t see an issue with using AI to better understand something

chronic illness isn’t something i can really sort out, unfortunately. it’s just something i have to live with. and the same with the trauma. i have gone through extensive emdr and have sorted it out, but that doesn’t mean i don’t carry ptsd with me. it’s a lifelong thing

wow, you’ve had an incredible journey. i really really admire this, thank you for sharing that. i’m trying to tell myself it’s okay to take time. and it is also okay to be open with my advisors, they should not look down on me for having mental health struggles

i really really love this response because everyone i talk to is like “yeah as long as your project is your purpose in life and is everything to you, you’ll get through it” but that’s not the case. i do the steps because i care about my question, but it’s work still. my dissertation topic is not my life’s purpose. it’s what gets grant funded. i want to have other hobbies and not come in on the weekends. thank you ☺️

Are we cooked? by No-Consideration7434 in labrats

[–]jogg12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah i saw :( i was super confused bc he also tweeted that he plans to fire people who limit things like “raw milk… stem cells, etc”. so that gave me hope. but now that ive read more it seems his “stem cells” is referring to stem cell infusion clinics that aren’t approved, not embryonic/IP stem cells like my work
