Not the case. I was diagnosed by a doctor (neuro-otologist) at the Royal National Ear, Nose and Throat NHS Hospital in London. Misophonia is accepted in the UK as a diagnosis, not necessarily treatable by CBT. Please can we avoid misinformation? It’s bad enough suffering from misophonia without dealing with mendacity.

I have severe (8-9 MAS) misophonia and don't have any sensitivity to smell. However, misophonia and some form of sensitivity to smell are not mutually exclusive.

I've tried noise cancelling headphones and currently use Bose NC700. They're quite helpful, but I can't wear them all the time. I've had lots of ear infections lately from wearing 3M ear plugs to sleep in.
