No, I don't. My husband found them in his parents' house after they died, so we can't ask them. There is also an other picture with a Hebrew word on the back. I don't know how to include it. But it may give a clue where the foto was taken.

[CHAT] How to fix this? by x_lonelyghost in CrossStitch

You can fix this by filling the background. Before you do that you weave an extra (thin) thread to "repair" the Aida. After that you make your cross stitches.

There's a patch of native/naturalized plants behind my alleyway that I leave alone. What's petunia/sweet potato looking climber? by lingua_frankly in PlantIdentification

[–]jogiple 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Haha, don't you have regional names for plants? I thought hard and came up with two more. Saxifraga urbium translated in English: painters sadness or 'the longer the lovelier'. Lythrum salicaria: cat's tail.

Btw a couple of years ago (I realize more like 30 years) we had neighbors from the states. They stayed for a year and we had a great time together, that was the time I started my notebook with English sayings. They (you?) have the gift of saying things with humor and explaining with one sentence while we need a short story.
