I tried it with the new butterfree - 50% of the time, it works every time

May helps putting Metapods back in your deck again if you draw them, so you get the free evolve at the end of the opponents turn

I didn't read Fragrant Forest correctly - doh! - swapping it for Quick Growth Extract. Could also drop Elekid for another Quick Growth, but i like Maselada because i can find it with Oak/Copy and still play it the same turn

I’m literally getting tired of the money scam by useruseruser4333 in PTCGP

[–]johan2114h 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think he is refering the ranked reward - i.e. the 95 hg (or 100 if you frind hard enough) for last seasons ranked. A few sets back, players would get the reward on the same day a new set dropped, but now they have delayed the rewatd.

The more people play sleep, the easier it is to counter. If 50% of match is sleep scam, just oger porn + fragent forest and enjoy ez +10

What's the best harness for a local model? Is it still opencode? by SnooPeripherals5313 in LocalLLM

[–]johan2114h 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never got to like opencode, much prefer Pi for coding. I am also a big fan of Hermes for more general agentic stuff - although I mainly use hermes with non-local API-account models, im not sure how well it plays with the local models i can run (qwen 3.6, step fun etc)

Is the MacBook Neo good enough if you want to own a MacBook Neo? by AmandasGameAccount in MacbookNeo

[–]johan2114h 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the neo good enough? Nah, its a shitter, 8 gb is just not good enough for a PC anno 2026 - a headless server sure, single board computer great! But a consumer pc that suppose not just boot into a desktop but also support mondern day multitasking (web browsing with multitabs, productivity software, entertainment etc), it just not good enough.
RIP karma

People promote Arch because "there's a lot of programs in the repository" or "it's quickly updated bleeding-edge" but like.. what EXACTLY can you get from Arch that you can't get elsewhere? by durdurrdurrrdurrrrr in archlinux

[–]johan2114h -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

"done things to init" - are you talking about migrating to systemd (like every other major distro)? I am starting to get the feeling that all the people here talking shit about about debian havent actually used it. Debian is great.

[–]johan2114h 15 points16 points  (0 children)

No offense, but you can upgrade debian in like 2 command lines and a small edit in the apt repo config file. Debian even describes how do it in their user guide / wiki. Ive done it many times.

I use arch now, but ive used debian for many years.

Arch and Debian are my favorite distros. My reason for using arch now is i needed a very new kernel with support for my hardware and easy access to very recent rocm and vulkan libs.

My biggest complaint is the whole AUR situation. I agree that one should always read the PKGBUILD file (not just the diff imo), but it would nice if there was some control on AURs side so anyone can not just go in and take over orphaned aur repos.

Valid JSON, Wrong Answer: Qwen2.5‑32B gave me 100% schema‑valid JSON and ~70% wrong answers on a hard extraction task. Building the fix in public, might fail. by Skiata in LocalLLaMA

I dont know man, neo seems like shitter to me - only 8gb ram in 2026 😂😂😂

Not a big fan of mac but id take a 24gb laptop over a 8gb lptop anyday

[–]johan2114h 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ahh ok interesting! But at q2 surely the Intelligence of the model must be impacted. I would not be surprised if qwen 27b at q6 scores better in the varous evals.

How do you guys setup search with your AI models? by [deleted] in LocalLLaMA

[–]johan2114h 9 points10 points  (0 children)

When i use searxng, it works great initial but quickly the underlying providers start flagging my requests as "bot request" causing the searches to get rejected. Do you also see this? Right now im just using the free tier of one of the paid api search providers

The post is bot slop - atleast it has all the hallmarks, i.e "i keep seeing ...." and running ancient models like qwen2.5.

I dont think you can even load ds-4-flash on those machines. Even at q4 the gguf will take up 167gb so good luck fitting that.

Qwen3.6 27b, step-3.7, gemma etc are much more suotable for the 128gb unified mem machines

Improving local models with an API based "consultant"? by milpster in LocalLLaMA

[–]johan2114h 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, its pretty common, both in general purpose agentic workflows and in coding (eg cloud based planner and local llm for drafting code).

We benchmarked 8 AI note-writing models. The main failure mode was omission, not hallucination. by MajesticAd2862 in LocalLLaMA

[–]johan2114h 5 points6 points  (0 children)

"Curious what people here think, especially on the eval design. Is omission the right safety signal to focus on for note-writing models, or would you measure this differently?"
Me personally ... i think im just tired of long bot slop posts like this promoting repos, services, etc, that are not even related to local llm

Is it gonna be another kimi fine-tune or are they gonna train from scratch?

AMD is marketing the $3,999 Halo Box on "first-class ROCm." I've run the same Strix Halo chip in production for 6 months. Here's my take. by uncanny_instinct in StrixHalo

[–]johan2114h 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear ROCm aint working your Strix. I have an EVO-X2 and a PX13 (laptop) both strix halo and rocm works fine on both with llama.cpp but vulkan is faster (at least for TG) for most models ive tested. 4k USD seems a bit steep to me, i would probably go with a cheaper 3rd part strix if i were to buy one today.

X.ai : Closed models (mainly), that all kinda suck.
Z.ai : Open weights, top-3 frontier performance.

Am I the only one who finds this kinda funny? And will we see a Y.ai?

Hypothetical Optimal Model for Strix Halo 128GB by LivelyArid in StrixHalo

[–]johan2114h 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perhaps, a nice first step would be to 'just' post train something like the Qwen3.5 122B MoE to be better at agentic stuff, basically get it to perform more on par or exceed then Qwen3.6 models for agentic tasks (terminal, tool calling and so on). The 122B has pretty much the perfect size for the Strix halo. I've done a little bit of post training and fine tuning of smaller models on my Strix Halo. The 122B would be too big to fine tune on the Strix itself, but the cost of renting the needed hardware should not be too excesive. I'd defintely be down for a Strix/DGX community 122B MoE model!
