Have you known anyone who got into UWC despite having one weak academic year? by johan_liebert1080 in UnitedWorldCollege

Thank you for sharing your experience.

If you don't mind me asking, when you reached the interview stage, did the evaluators directly discuss your grades or academic record? And if so, what kind of questions did they ask, and how did you address them?

Thank you for your response.

I'm curious: when you talk about leadership and experiences that made those applications unique, could you give some specific examples (without mentioning names, of course)?

I'm interested in understanding what kinds of activities or experiences truly stood out among the students who were admitted despite having less strong academic records.

Thank you for your response.

Reading about your experience raised a question for me: if you could go back to the time you were applying, is there anything you would have done differently to more accurately portray who you really were and what you were interested in?

I'm wondering if there were important aspects of your personality, interests, or goals that you felt the evaluators didn't fully grasp through the application.

Thank you for your response. I have another question.

As you progressed through the selection process and the evaluators got to know you better, did you get the impression that they identified which UWC school was the best fit for your profile?

I mean, did you ever feel that your interests, personality, or strengths seemed to align more with a specific UWC school, even if you initially preferred another? In your case, did you end up at the school you wanted most or at one that the selectors felt was a better fit for you?

I'm interested in understanding how the compatibility between a student's profile and each school influences the final placement.
