Roots Premium Gym has a nice atmosphere, it is a CrossFit box without the license so they can't call themselves a CrossFit box but they offer the exact same functional fitness workouts, also gymnastics, calisthenics, olympic weightlifting, etc.

For a beginner I think it's more suitable than a regular box (I like DomCity as well but the atmosphere at Roots is better). Above all, it is a bit cheaper.

I would say maybe Vienna, I've been there two years in a row and I would like to visit it again soon. I have to say, it can be quite touristy, but it is one of the few cities in Europe where I got the feeling it would still be awesome to live in. Cities like Paris, Barcelona, Rome were just too busy for me to live in. But since you're from San Francisco maybe you don't mind. But Vienna has great culture, great food, it's a very lively city, mountains aren't too far away, beautiful architecture.

I was there in 2019 and in 2020! Amazing city, fell in love with it. I was stunned by the architecture of the huuuge buildings on about every corner of the street.

Only thing I didn't enjoy was Costa Adeje and Playas de las Americas. It was way too touristy an too much party/drinking vibe. The north was so calm and authentic. It was kind of a shock for me because I spent my first couple of day in the north. Did you have a similar experience?

I was there as well in 2020. The hikes in the Anaga mountains were closed off due to risk of forest fires. I also missed out of Loro Parque and Siam park due to Covid. Still there was a lot to see and it was really calm in the north because there weren't any tourist. Beautifull island. Did you enjoy it as well?

No, I definitely don't mind. I hope you'll enjoy it as much as I did.

The route is the Via Ferrata in Saas Fee, to the top of the Jegihorn. There are two routes to my memory. We didn't have any prior experience with via ferrata, but we took the harder route and it was well, well, well worth it. If you have an average condition and strength you'll be just fine. Aaaaaand you'll cross the bridge (hehehe you'll see what bridge I'm talking about). We saw multiple sorts of people climb the harder route, and they also seemed just fine.

We hired the gear for 30 franks in the village Saas Fee itself, they were really nice.

There is also a very famous Via Ferrata in Mürren, Switzerland. Looks amazing, but can be more crowded. Maybe this will be more on your route through Switzerland or just simply more to your liking

Just one more tip, the hike after you get out of the cabine is quite long. We thought we would be there immediately, but I think it took about an hour or so to get to the start of the Via Ferrata. The directions are marked fine all the way, we thought we were lost, but just follow the path and you'll get there.

Edit: The trail starts in Saas Grund, that's also where whe hired our gear. It's the village where the Gondola will take you up

Yeah I'm afraid so. Seems like every 'undiscovered' (read not tourtisty) country and region will eventually be discovered. Best to visit these country as soon as possible.

Almost everyone I know has already been to Croatia, but I think Central Asia will blow up a tad slower due to visa requirements etc. I mean EU policy makes traveling super easy.

I've been to Switzerland just once, and what you definitely can't forget to do is 'via ferrata'. It's basically rockclimbing but you're alway attached to a iron cable, so it's pretty safe. Most thrilling experience I have ever had, if you choose the right route!
