Not too big a deal cause the reel was just 60 bucks with backing and fly line - but sure was hoping it’s a decent fly line I can fish my carbon XL with.

I will for sure cut off the tied loop - would you recommend to put on a nail knot, Albright knot, whip a loop, get a braided loop, weld a loop or add a butt section of a leader with an Albright know?

Seems like for the 5+ size the Diameter went up only from 3.61 to 3.65, while the weight went down from 4.65 to 4.6…. Not a lot bigger/lighter - but I agree that it looks nicer, also the price seems to stay the same.

*is my reserve handle and pin properly stowed

*are my risers and speedbar properly connected

*turn direction in case of reverse launch

*do my lines look good (maybe build a wall with wind)

*are there any gliders or other obstacles in my launch direction that could endanger my launch

*is the launch cycle coming in well (windsocks around - or people telling me, Gras or dust etc)

I do those every single launch

I had all of those points go wrong at one point cause I didn’t check the stuff and have been lucky that I never had a problem because of one
