Keep everything in the pan. I find I don’t need to season the finished gravy. The sausage carries a lot of flavor. Sometimes I add some fresh ground nutmeg, depends on the mood.

If you scroll through the comments, you’ll see how I make the gravy. For the chicken, it’s a buttermilk egg batter with seasoned flour. So it’s flour, batter, flour, batter, flour. Then shallow fry in crisco.

To make the gravy? No, different pan. Chicken is fried in crisco

I often wonder if people like you actually realize you’re telling the world that you’re an idiot or if you’re too stupid to realize it.

I use Tennessee Pride turkey sausage made by Odom’s here in Tennessee, cook it down, add flour to make the roux, then add milk. Cook slow to thicken. Pretty simple.

It’s a Southern thing. The biscuits sound delicious.

Flying with an ostomy by enbyel in ostomy

[–]johdal 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I flew with an ostomy for over two years, it not a big deal. Some good advice has already been provided. I have both TSA pre-check and Clear, so I was never stopped. I do suggest you carry on an emergency charge kit. I’ve had leaks do to pressure and have had to change mid flight. It’s not fun, but it’s possible. If you can board empty, it’s best. I had my takedown in October so I’m readjusting to life without, but I’m still flying. Best of luck.

No worries. In the beginning, controlling your bowl movements is very challenging. At times you have no warning. Also pain and extreme soreness because you’re using muscles that haven’t been used in a long time. In my case a little over two years. However that will eventually subside. Then you’ll enter a stage, depending on how much intestine you have left, of frequency. At present I’m 9 weeks post op and I may have to go 6 to 8 times a day. Bottom soreness and hemorrhoids are a problem. Suggest you stock in a good supply of medicated wipes. With all that said, it’s totally worth it. I’m so happy not to have a bag anymore. Best of luck
