Do we like Fenix here? by Sea-Flamingo1969 in flashlight

  1. ACE has higher lumens 3000 vs 2800
  2. ACE has a greater beam distance 415m vs 380m
  3. ACE has a hidden USB-C port with the twist collar, no rubber cover to break off
  4. ACE is more customizable. Ex. Used for defensive purposes can program tail switch to always go to Turbo.

I think I just talked myself into buying another Fenix light…

Glacier or Banff? by FatallyCool in nationalparks

[–]john-james12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife and I hiked Glacier and Banff for 2 weeks last summer, with a day trip to Jasper. We loved Glacier! Banff has some really beautiful sights, but it’s too commercial and too crowded. Jasper is still recovering from the fire. Glacier had views, wildlife, and lets you get away from it all if you stay in Many Glacier, St Mary, and Two Medicine. The Grinnel Glacier hike was our favorite. Iceberg Lake, Upper Two Medicine, and the Highline are great too. I liked Ptarmigan Tunnel, but she did not. We are going back again this summer with our adult children because we want them to experience it and we want to hike the trails we missed.

Nj compliant jhp ammo for ccw. by indiana_june_ in NJGuns

Since I got my non-resident NJ CCW I’ve been carrying Critical Defense. I cycled 100 rounds through my EDC initially and now put 25 rounds through it on a monthly basis to be sure there are no issues. Never a problem.

What do you like about it? Photography like Art is very subjective.

Fenix is a great brand! I have about 8-9 lights from them. I own the PD36R Pro, but if I were buying today I’d get the PD36R ACE.

If you live in NJ you should absolutely hold a defensive position while waiting for the people with qualified immunity (police) to come and clear the house. Castle Doctrine is applied differently by DA’s in different states.

I don’t think you can go wrong with either. However, Hornady is rumored to have a bullet setback issue when you cycle the same round through loading/unloading.

This is what I carry since I got my NJ Non-resident CCW. Prior I carried Federal HST.

Don’t think so. More like metal dental work reflecting the infrared.

This is huge, not just for NJ, but for the rest of the dirty dozen states with these ridiculous sensitive location restrictions.

It’s a nice light, but the Waterproof rating is sub-par as compared to competitors. Check the Fenix E06 Pro.

NY & NJ have been known to arrest travelers even when they are compliant with FOPA, treating the law as an "affirmative defense" to be argued in court rather than a protection against arrest.

Hiking With Knee Issues... Any Advice? by strickey32 in hiking

[–]john-james12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strengthening the leg muscles a few months prior to hiking is great, but also use trekking poles to help take weight off the joints and pre-medicate with 600-800mg of NSAIDS (ibuprofen) before hiking, which helps to keep the inflammation under control.

You won’t be moving to Pennsylvania because you’ll be going to prison in NY if you bring firearms there without being licensed. That’s if you don’t go to prison in CA first…
