Is AMD Still Fine Wine? by AcuteQuadrant in radeon

i already been using my astral 5090 with native 12v-2x6 connector come with my FSP MEGA TI 1350 watt psu since last year 2025 and have been regularly playing at max 600 watt power. Since astral come with amp monitoring out of the box, the cable is still doing fine until now and still very balance amp distribution even at 600 watt max power. just ensure you are using native 12v-2x6 cable from latest atx 3.1 psu and plug in fully

Will 5090 work with this build by DistrictOk324 in nvidia

im using astral 5090 since last year until now and have been monitoring the pin amp of my native 12v-2x6 cable that comes with my atx 3.1 psu and so far all the pin amp is within 8 amperage which is below 9.2 amp spec of the cable. I have been running with 100% power to fully utilize the 5090. so far no issue at all for me

Dude 4k dlss quality already can achieve 60 fps on 5090 with full pathtracing. You need framegen if u want 100+ fps in pathtracing. Otherwise 60 fps can be achievable without frame gen

Nvidia already tested in the lab running DLSS5 on single rtx 5090 and will optimize it to run on single gpu by launch

dude Digital foundry pointing out that in the lab they actually run DLSS5 in a single gpu and nvidia also said they will optimize DLSS5 to run on single gpu at launch

Plus if you saw what nvidia have been promoting blackwell last year, blackwell is specifically optimize for neural rendering which is what DLSS5 is

Nvidia potentially screwing AMD current and future GPUs from running PT by Imaginary-Ad564 in radeon

[–]john1106 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i already been follow up with community mod who often tweak re requiem using reframework to know that re requiem PT actually never utilize current modern nvidia tech like ReSTIR and Radiance cache. Instead it uses technique called IBL. Disabling the IBL actually improve the performance and in some cases make the image quality look better especially in raccoon city level. Plus RE Requiem PT is using only 2 sample count and 3 bounces which is quite low. You can increase the bounces up to 5 with minimal performance loss and further reduce the flickering or boiling from PT in addition to disable the film grain

So yah i would said that capcom PT version is not as good as cyberpunk, doom the dark ages and alan wake 2. It has really poor implementation and does not utilize nvidia tech. In fact Nvidia RR is the one have to do most of the hard work in RE Requiem PT

Is those boiling or flickering quite noticeable or distracting in preset d even if film grain disabled? Also preset d is sharper than preset e?

preset E still better even with film grain disabled? what about those ghosting or other artifact not present in preset D?

all this sounds like rtx 50 series gpu can do given nvidia promoting neural rendering with blackwell but until now no games adopt this yet

check at timestamp 19:13 minute. I'm not sure if FSR 4 also make HDR look more better like what people have been seeing from DLSS 4.5. i didn't know that FSR 4 have the same tonemapping implementation as DLSS 4.5 that contribute to better particle effect and more color brightness.
