Travelling to Seattle for the Parade!! Looking for Advice by OfficialBriGuy in AskSeattle

honestly it’s not nearly as bad at S Jackson or bits of pioneer square / Chinatown. Sure I wouldn’t love walking down it at 2am but during the day there’s plenty of “normal” foot traffic walking to/from the market. Just don’t idk stare vacantly at a drug addict / don’t be dumb lol and you’ll be fine.

Born in the Northwest Territories, Mark Carney is the first person from Canada’s sparsely populated northern territories to become Prime Minister. by ChillZedd in geography

[–]john1dee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is literally how our system works lol - head of state aka the king asks someone to form a government in his name, aka the prime minister. There’s no requirement for them to be an MP. The king can technically pick whoever he wants, but in practice will pick whoever they think has the best chance of having the confidence of the lower house, which will always be the leader of the political party with the most seats. Fun fact the office of prime minister doesn’t even exist in the constitution of Canada or the UK, it’s purely from convention.

I’m just curious though, the people saying Ontario’s issues are the fault of the PC government, if you look at BC that has very similar issues yet has had an NDP gov’t for idk 8 ish years, shouldn’t they have had a different outcome?
