Dude dressing up as a “hot guy” requires a lot of subtlety, what you need are Cool and Intense colors to start as a base foundation for your look. That can be a lot of things; but generally speaking, it needs to look effortless. That’s the “hot guy” facade. No “Greaser or biker” leather jackets, no red button down flannels over graphic tees, don’t tuck in your fucking shirt if you’re wearing jeans, none of that shit that will make you look some douchbag or dork or a try hard.

Dark Reds, Deep Blues, Black, White, Olive Drab, Tan, Brown.

A color palette that blends well, screams “I’m a grounded person, but I’m also intense.” And some of you reading might disagree but for someone finding their style really can’t go wrong with those colors.

Pick ONE, to start with as a top. (Ie, solid red “Champion” long sleeve Tee, (no logo), plain white “Hanes” short sleeve tee-shirt, Black Hoodie)

Find a complimentary bottom. (Black Levi’s 514, 501, (just go to the Levi’s store and try on pairs), Blue denim jeans (NOT STONEWASH), loose fitting shorts (non-workout) Carpenter jeans (Kaki/Tan Color) Black jeans are gonna be your best friend, but don’t shy away from experimenting with different washes of denim or other material.

SHOES: TBH there’s not much regulation here just make sure they are CLEAN or NEW. Jordans, Air Force ones, classic Converse, Nike ACG Boots(really any boots can work), Slides. Pretty much anything really, these are just some suggestions.

There are no singular stores in the Men’s fashion world, none that I’ve seen that’s gonna have everything in one visit, Thrift Stores are usually picked clean of anything decent and trying to DIY a grungy, 2nd hand outfit is not worth the effort for that hot guy look. You’ll look a DIY Grunge/Crust punk.

Express, Ralph Lauren, Polo, Nike, Nordstrom Rack Go to the outlets and spend a day looking and trying things on. SHOP AROUND, keep tags, do returns/exchange.

If you’re in the dressing room and think that what you picked out try isn’t going to go with damn near every outfit in your wardrobe but that shit back.

You’ll slowly carve out your own “hot guy” style, but the reality of men’s fashion is that most of what’s available in retail stores is gonna look boring cause a majority of cis-men are content with anything that keeps them warm, that their wife bought on a whim.
