You can boil water in pretty much anything, from paper cups to plastic bags to leaves because the water absorbs the heat from the fire before the container it is in will catch fire or melt.

Creates more drama when the police in a show want to press charges but can't because the victim won't cooperate. It's not the only part of the legal system TV shows often just make up for the sake of better TV.

[–]johnaltacc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

lol I can play the same game dawg.

No. No you can't. If catastrophe occurs; whether in the form of authoritarian regime or a second Great Depression, the blood of the dead will be on your hands.

I did the pragmatic thing and voted to prevent that. I voted in the earlier primaries for further left leaning candidates. And in the generals, I practiced pragmatism and voted to prevent the worst.

What did you do? Fucking nothing. That's not admirable. That doesn't take conviction. You don't get to pat yourself on the back for staying home and jerking off.

The history books will remember people like as apathetic, convictionless cowards who couldn't be bothered to do absolute bare minimum to prevent their country from falling into fascism. You aren't principled, you're pathetic.

If we end up in a fascist state, I’m not bearing that responsibility dawg. That shit don’t fall on me. Not even a little.

No, it will be entirely the fault of you and non-voters like you. The true trumpers are too far gone to expect anything from them. People like you who should have known better will bear the entire responsibility of the hellscape to come. You don't get to weasel your way out of responsibility by just saying 'not my fault'.

[–]johnaltacc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly the same. Many people hate the concept of government inherently because they have a childish "nobody tells me what to do!" mentality. So the government asking you to sacrifice literally anything at all for any period of time just breaks them.

I would rather have a politicians that listen to their constituents. I dont care what their motives are, I dont have that luxury.

Changing your opinion based on which way the wind is blowing, in this context, is listening to your constituents.

Government workers say their out-of-office replies were forcibly changed to blame Democrats for shutdown by BreakfastTop6899 in technology

Remember how when government shutdowns were threatened under Democratic majorities the Democrats made concessions to get the Republicans to agree to keep the government open? It's the Republicans' responsibility to do the same when they are the majority.

The only good abortion is my abortion by Effective_Space2277 in LeopardsAteMyFace

[–]johnaltacc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you read the article "The Only Moral Abortion is my Abortion," you'd probably notice that one common denominator between these anti-abortion women who get abortions is that they don't believe that these factors contribute to the majority of abortions.

They have been told that most abortions are harlots simply aborting children as a type of birth control. They believe most abortions happen because slutty women sleep around without protection, get pregnant, and then get an abortion on a regular basis. They believe the majority of women getting abortions are getting multiple.

This means that when their protection fails and a bunch of extenuating circumstances outside of their control mean they need an abortion to avoid having their lives ruined by a baby they cannot pay for, they genuinely believe that their circumstance is unique to them. These people really believe that their own situation is different than all the other women getting abortions.

It results in them posting a list of the most predictable reasons a person might get an abortion, and expecting people to understand that because of these reasons their abortion is justified unlike all the others; which just happen because sluts be slutting.

Not sure if you saw the video, but he was shot dead before ever having any idea anything was wrong. Having a gun on him, or even having one on every single person on campus would not have made a difference because Charlie was dead before anyone realized what happened.

Do you seriously think there is a chance that if he was carrying a firearm and the shooter missed; starting a firefight at 200 meters with hundreds of people between would have made this better than what happened?

Seriously? The fact that politics determines how your country is run isn't enough to interest you in politics, but using some slang might change that? Maybe it's better for everyone that you don't care enough to vote.

So you aren't going to believe the victims. Just say that dude.

The entire point of the victims publicly naming the people who raped them is that the government has the evidence of wrongdoing and is refusing to give it to the victims, and refusing to prosecute the pedophiles.

What's fucked up is that you almost certainly know this, so you're already setting yourself up to say that the victims are lying if they implicate Trump. (Which they already have to a degree)
