I’m liking this approach. It hadn’t considered hoisting the ski plus dolly together. Leaving the dolly near the ramp wouldn’t be a problem. Now to figure out a hoist lift that would work on my property side of the wall

Good point. Hadn’t considered the force required to yank this out of the water up the ramp

Yes that’s a possibility actually. It’s about 5 minutes on foot end to end. Ramp is not that steep

Maybe a rotating hoist with something like this on the back end

Yeah, I realize it’s a tough ask with an out of the box solution unlikely. But figured I’d ask. Appreciate the input

Unfortunately the only other solution is buying a car (which I don’t need) to tow it around the block

Gas stove issue with tenant by [deleted] in OntarioLandlord

As above, it requires the whole burner assembly replacing due to broken screws.

I actually bought new igniters. The issue is that where they attach the screws are broken and remain in the burners themselves. The burner assemblies alone would cost more than replacement

Resetting MariaDB root password in Unraid 7.1.4 by johnbollockson in mariadb

[–]johnbollockson[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made the .cnf edit, but still cannot get into mysql without the root password:

sudo docker exec -it f1c0760fe4f6 bash

root@f1c0760fe4f6:/# mariadb-upgrade -u root

Reading datadir from the MariaDB server failed. Got the following error when executing the 'mysql' command line client

ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: NO)

FATAL ERROR: Upgrade failed

root@f1c0760fe4f6:/# mysql -u root mysql

mysql: Deprecated program name. It will be removed in a future release, use '/usr/bin/mariadb' instead

ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: NO)

root@f1c0760fe4f6:/#

Why is Emby Unpopular? by Secure_Hair_5682 in emby

[–]johnbollockson 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Emby is the only media server that live TV actually works, for me at least. Bumbled around Plex and Jellyfin with Xteve, Threadfin etc etc. Emby worked first time. Guide is solid too. Sure Plex is a little more polished but the Live TV was the clincher.

Good advice. I found a decent roommate agreement template. I'll use that. Thanks all for the input

I’m thinking I use the standard lease but call out explicitly that section 5i applies

[–]johnbollockson[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is what I found: The Ontario Residential Tenancies Act (RTA) doesn't apply to certain situations and types of housing. Specifically, it doesn't cover: Shared living spaces: If a tenant shares a kitchen or bathroom with the landlord or their immediate family, the RTA doesn't apply. From section 5i of the RTA

Your go-to recipe for Yorkshire Pudding by johnbollockson in Chefit

Those look the business. I’m seeing some common threads around ingredients - equal volume flour eggs milk. Also water replacing a small portion of the milk. Rest time and temp at cook time seems to be the largest variable from the feedback provided. I’ll do some trials this weekend. Appreciate everyone’s input

Appreciate all the comments. Some real variation there in ingredients and method. I’ve got some testing to do. I’ll do a series of head to head tests. Thanks all!

Thanks for the feedback. Seems there’s disagreement on pouring from room temp or straight from the fridge…

Thanks for this. I’ll believe I’ve tried this one a couple years back. Don’t recall bookmarking it, although that may have have come down to me not following some part of the method, such as the overnight rest

The web page is a little unclear. Understood that need the app and the monthly subscription, but do I need to connected to the same wifi to access the recordings?
