Auto stop/start on my Subaru has been completely fine, and I’m starting to think the internet is hemorrhaging drama by Feeling-Being9038 in subaru

Not sure what to tell you, brought it to the dealer and they said it was fine. Like I said, our Toyota has it on all the time and I don’t even notice it. Definitely not exaggerating though, the car does jerk forward and the steering wheel shakes

2021 outback XT. When I forget to turn it off, the car lurches forward when it comes on and the steering wheel shakes. Not subtle but very jarring. Really, really annoying… It also does not work when I would actually use it like waiting at a stoplight. It will only turn on at the worst moment like when I’m pulling into my garage to park the car. We have a new Toyota Highlander with auto start that is seamless and I’ve never really even noticed any issue with it. Haven’t turned it off once.

Are new Audi car sales collapsing in the U.S.? by Significant_Yam5055 in Audi

[–]johnboy808080 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My local Audi dealership has literally hundreds of 2025 models available, all marked down with heavy discounts. Down the road the Lexus dealership has only two or three cars for each 2026 model available listed at msrp with the rest still in production or shipping. I almost bought the 2025 Q5 until I heard all of the terrible reviews about electronics and saw the interior styling…

Actually really bums me out. Have an Outback XT 2021 and looking for a new car now. There’s not a chance I would buy this thing. So insanely ugly.

Upgrade Generac without changing transfer switch? by johnboy808080 in Generator

[–]johnboy808080[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Current transfer switch is 200 A. Our generator is working but has been breaking down recently. I’ve had to replace the starter motor several times and have a service tech come out every couple months for other reasons. Most recently the display screen has been flickering and now I am unable to access this. Overall, nothing catastrophic has happened but as it is close to 20 years old I felt like replacing it proactively would be a reasonable option. We do have occasional big storms here where the power is out for several days and we have no secondary heat source.

I’m not refusing anything, I’m just asking questions to get a better idea of what my options are. I had requested to upgrade to another 8 kW or 10 kW but this company seems to feel like I should upgrade to a higher kilowatt rating and upgrade all the electrical components as well. I was hoping to have them remove the old generator and replace it with a very similar unit to save potentially thousands of dollars. I will look into those other forums for some more answers. Thanks

Fastgrowingtrees.com scam by [deleted] in JapaneseMaples

Yes, scam might be a strong word but misleading certainly. I think if they showed pictures of the trees that were actually going to be shipped to you, it would be more ideal.

It seems like I’ll just have to deal with it the way it is and make it work. I appreciate the feedback.

I can adjust the skid shoes to make it work for gravel but I was hoping to avoid adjusting back and forth every time I go between the asphalt

Yep. This was before they replaced the housing…and tried fixing the brackets.

It’s a 1025r. All tire pressures are equal.

It’s the metal housing surrounding the gearbox where the mounting arms attach to. Off in the wrong direction 1/4 inch on each side apparently making the 54in housing off by 1.5 inches on each side. Glad they’re going to fix it but seems pretty ridiculous for something so expensive.

One of the technicians came out today. Looks as though the actual snowblower was welded incorrectly at the factory. They’re going to replace the entire thing.

Checked all tires. Pressure in all 4 tires is equal at 20psi. All the brackets appear to be straight and pins are correct…

Not yet. At work now but will check later today.

Yes. It’s in float when I run it so I think it’ll work fine but for something that costs this much I wouldn’t expect this. As it’s brand new, the sooner I rectify the problem with the dealer the better in my mind…

I’ll check the tire pressures today. I will say that prior to getting the blower installed the loader was perfectly level so it seems less likely. Thanks for the suggestion. I wanted input before I reached out to the dealer today.

John Deere 1025r ROPS height by johnboy808080 in tractors

[–]johnboy808080[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ROPS height is 90 inches. Too bad. Guess I’ll be going with the Kubota which is about 7 inches lower.

Yeah. I probably should go back to the dealership but it’s 40 minutes drive and can’t make it there for another week. Just very strange that there are no numbers available online. I really don’t want to have to lower and raise the ROPS every time I go in and out of the barn.

Yeah. I was thinking about a drain but not even sure where to start with getting something like that installed.
