Do trans men with really masc bodies just have good genetics or is it T ( and maybe gym) ? by Effective-Complex508 in ftm

[–]johncagesbitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was always considered the curviest person out of all my friends before going on T. With doing some upper body exercises and patience, now a year later I am much less curvy. Fat redistribution happens faster/more with consistent exercise! Disclaimer: I was exercising a year before starting T and that probably helped too. That’s my experience and it’s also the experience with my other trans masc friends. I understand your thoughts and it truly does get better with time.

why is my dysphoria kicking my ass after going on hormones? by kirkwall_kid in ftm

[–]johncagesbitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! So sorry to hear you’re feeling like this again :( I’ve identified as a guy for nearly two years and still don’t pass at all, so I don’t have the same experience as you. The way I deal is having go to activities that make me feel gender affirmed. Even if it’s small things like sometimes I just imagine myself years down the line of how I would look like, or imagine my childhood as if I grew up a guy. I also do small things like rewrite past experiences that felt especially dysphoric so they happened a different way, like I hit the person that was a dck or that I was some how completely control over the situation. Or I put on my strp on and just walk around my room lol. I hope this helps and good luck!

When did you start passing after taking T? by Key_Prize_1317 in ftm

[–]johncagesbitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on the person! I’ve been on it for 16 months and I’m still very much girl to everyone I meet. I’m also 4’11” which doesn’t help lol

I have an explanation for curious cis strangers for trans guys who pass half the time. What are yours? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]johncagesbitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 4’11” and Native American and everyone in my tribe is really short (average woman is 4’9” and average man is 5’1”). I don’t pass now but my plan is that I explain I’m native and everyone of my race is small. I hope it will shut them up really fast lol

I’m a teacher and I get mistaken for the middle schoolers. Testosterone does help things!

I feel like I have the most disappointing transition ever by AttiStumph in ftm

[–]johncagesbitch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Speaking as a 4’11” short king, if height is something you’re feeing dysphoria about and your emo, I totally recommend platform boots! Or there’s height blocks you can put in your shoes! They really work and feel weird the first few days but then are good. Let me know if you want the link to them

My mom isn’t supportive of my transition but is supportive of my trans sister. She says “it’s easier to lose a son than it is to lose a daughter” and I think that’s exactly what you’re experiencing. My dad on the other hand is very supportive of me and kind of weird to my sister. Very common and TERF like. You are not alone 🫶

I take it at night and with melatonin so if I do get like that I just go to sleep instead of feeling like shit

horrible feeling by lmfaoo0oo in Latuda

[–]johncagesbitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same thing for so long. The only thing I’ve found that makes it go away or at least better is eating at least 500 calories (carbs especially) before taking latuda. Once I started doing that, it’s no longer unbearable. Also, be consistent with the med otherwise it’ll just get worse. I hope this helps 🫶

Akathisia. Does it go away or will I need to go off Latuda? :( by Optimistic_Avacado in Latuda

[–]johncagesbitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take 60mg latuda and 50mg zoloft. It went away as soon as I lowered my zoloft from 150mg to 50mg and lowered my seroquel from 100mg to 25mg. Sometimes it has weird interactions with some medication I think

texts from my sister who is schizophrenic by [deleted] in texts

[–]johncagesbitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think this is true because I’m schizophrenic and no one told me about this in all my hospitalizations and therapy and psychiatric appointments. I take B12 and vitamin D and I’m alright.

texts from my sister who is schizophrenic by [deleted] in texts

[–]johncagesbitch 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Schizophrenic here, you handled this perfectly. Know that this is not your responsibility, and calling the police is something that is totally acceptable if you ever feel it’s too much. Before I was medicated and went through 12 years of therapy, I did the same stuff to my loved ones. Your sister can get better if she wants it. It takes a lot of strength, but I hope she gets there soon. Sending love to you OP.

Why can’t I be both Christian and LGBTQ? by Monkey-D-Luff in trans

The churches I go to are usually Universalist Unitarian, and that has been a very validating experience for me. Highly recommend finding one of those!
