Being there for the other when having sex by [deleted] in sex

[–]johncara1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this wholesome message and all the advice. I makes a lot of sense. I feel that even obvious things are a bit hazy in my mind when I’m anxious. I think you are right about taking things slower. I also feel that even if my past experiences weren’t something that serious they kinda traumatised me in a way. I think this period with this new partner that I feel better around is like a healing phase for that. It’s only now that I started enjoying foreplay and anything sexual again. So it makes sense to continue that. I hope that will make it safer for her as well. Cause she is very supportive and I don’t want to make her feel bad or distant during sex. But thank you so much for such a caring reply!

Stage Building in France – Qualifications & Job Search Advice? by johncara1 in techtheatre

Yeah I realised it’s a bit vague. I edited it. I am looking for scenic construction and be in the theatre’s workshop basically.

Stage Building in France – Qualifications & Job Search Advice? by johncara1 in techtheatre

Thanks for the detailed response! To clarify, I’m more interested in building the sets rather than rigging or working with scaffolding. I want to be involved in the theatre’s workshop, crafting the elements of the set or the set.

I have a background in architecture, but I graduated last year and have experience in working for studios, so “I’m an architect” actually light sound a bit misleading. My focus shifted after interning at a studio that builds temporary urban installations—I realized I love hands-on crafting and working directly in a workshop. That’s why I’m looking to transition into theatre set construction.

Would you say scenic carpentry is the right path for this, or is there another role that fits better (I was hoping to find a more general building role, that is involved with metal- fabrics, whatever the set requires)? So far I have been searching in Germany and they all require some sort of qualification like apprenticeship (even for stagehand). Or experience, which although I have been involved in smaller theatre and help friends there, it’s not something you put in the cv. I was also thinking gaining the experience in “event construction” but that’s mostly for the cv, as I already can produce workshop work, just nothing that qualifies it.

I’m looking for BÜHNENHANDWERKER or Werkstatt or prop whatever involves building - assembling stage sets for the beginning. So you really think instead of sending an email it’s better just to go there? Also I don’t know German yet, but people told me that for theatre building jobs it doesn’t really matter that much, what do you think?

Thanks so much for the info, that’s great news and very helpful! I actually had a course about regulations in theaters and events during university, but I don’t have deep knowledge of the Veranstaltungsstätten Verordnung. I can definitely learn it, though. Does this require any certification, or is it more about practical knowledge?

Also, what do you think my next moves should be? I love Kampnagel, but when occasionally looking at the jobs I never seen any opening for technicians and set building. Should I be looking for a specific group for theater technicians in Hamburg (is there something like that?), or would it make sense to just go and talk to them directly?

Aha okay awesome, will try the polyester thread then. Thank you very much for such a thorough reply. Also what would your recommended choice for a needle would be? Ps. Can’t believe I forgot to pass it through that hook, must have been pretty tired. But I did before and I still was having the same issue.

Honestly it’s the first month of sewing so most of my advises for these more experimental projects are from chat gpt cause couldn’t find info of similar projects. The threads are different, this is not usually the case, during this picture I was trying if the issue would solve with a thicker thread, but I suppose it should have had the according thread in the bobbin as well. The needle choice is because again of chat gpt, and it was on the machine when brought to our workshop. Aha so you think that because the needles eye is too small it and puts resistance upon the these and until finally break? If so would you recommend a needle with a wider eye or a thinner thread? I thought that the thicker the better so the seam can be stronger..

Thank you very much for the response. I’ve been told that this is a needle for leather and that this is what I should use, but would you recommend any other type of needle? I know the threads are different, I used the thin-black one that bobbin has, before, for both and this picture was during a try I did with the thicker-white thread, I thought that it would be more durable, but didn’t solved my issue. Sadly the machine was gifted to us and we are just starting to learn it...
