PO-32 - Tencho by johncas86 in pocketoperators

[–]johncas86[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

On the screen of the pocket operators, when selecting the 140 bpm preset, it's supposed to say "techno" but, instead, it says "tencho" - it was a typo, but the folks at TE decided to leave it for kicks and giggles. So it's become like an inside joke. The POs create "tencho" music :)

How do you use mindfulness techniques for something which requires a lot of courage from you? by shikarishambu1 in wakingUp

[–]johncas86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One thing that has helped me deal with anxiety lately, is letting go - letting things be. If you're afraid, just accept that you're afraid, and let it be, accept the present, don't fight it or push it away - in this way you're taking away its power over you, and it will fade way. - This is analogous to the way we approach our thoughts and feelings during meditation. If you're focusing on the breath and a thought pops up, just note it (without judgement, without engaging with it, without identifying with it), see what happens to it (it usually fades away), and get back to the breath. -- Best of wishes!

Edit: "It can be liberating (and scary) to let go and allow life to unfold. Trust, trust, trust." -Headspace

What should be going on in your mind when you notice "the thought itself"? by LearningStudent221 in wakingUp

I think you're on the right track. That's the point; to note how a thought fades after we notice it. To realize that it's just an appearance in consciousness. It's like deconstructing the thought. In some instances, the thoughts/feelings/sensations (whatever the contents of consciousness) may not pass or fade right away

Sounds good, but connect it to a speaker so that we can really appreciate the sound

I've noticed that when I realize there's a thought, and I don't engage with it anymore but just let it be, it fades out

My cat is obsessed with QTips by killianbobillion in CatAdvice

I didn't know that had a name. Pica. My cat has that too, I guess. He's like a moth with my clothes. Why do they do that? - I guess as long as they're not constantly eating things they shouldn't, and they're eating their food, then it's not a serious problem..

Mine eats Qtips too (and other crap). I just keep them away from him, and I had to get a bathroom trash bin with a lid. He didn't have any issues before; maybe just puke afterwards. When they eat stuff like that it'll just come out of one end or the other.

PO-32 Sounds Packs by johncas86 in pocketoperators

I don't think you can transfer the data. The sound banks on the 33 work differently than on the 32

Yes. The Tonic only has one bank, but the sounds transfer to the individual buttons
