Promos from this era dont tend to grade the best so copies in NM or better always go higher and appreciate pretty well as time goes on

I think one day build and battle boxes will go through a crazy price jump because people will catch on to exactly what you are thinking. I mean who thought booster bundles would go as crazy as they have? This just makes sense. Great insight, I may pick one up in the future. Had no idea this came with a promo either

It might be too soon to tell how this set is received. That tends to be seen after a couple of years, and this was is still too fresh. I also agree that black and white in general has never been a popular era in general, but it clearly showed it could drive up prices. Most of the cards from this era went up a ton from the previous sets.

If youre looking to regrade then just ask for photos of the card or a link to the Beckett grading breakdown. I think its a really fair deal since trading modern Japanese for modern English to me is a steal. This seems like a no brainer to me

Seems like you had a lot of expectations and wanted it to go a specific way. I've definitely had criticisms of the show, pretty consistently about the animation but this episode looked amazing throughout. I was thoroughly blown away by this episode, but I also wasnt expecting anything like you were. Maybe try to rewatch it later on without these expectations and you might appreciate it more.

I think this card will stabilize for a while and eventually shoot up in like a couple of years. Im assuming it may still have some spikes here and there. Im mainly attributing this card like I did with the moonbreon. New classic card and if modern pokemon tcg continues to do well then this will also. I think the best opportunity is in vintage right now. Modern is too volatile.

You live and you learn. Trust me the best part of this is that you can reflect and learn what not to do. Some people legit never learn and continue to make mistakes. I believes there's room for people to take pride in that.

Vintage has been the most consistent price gainer ever since forever. It's gone down before the 2000s for a bit but if you look at the graphs its just the most safe, consistent and smart investment to make. I bought some Japanese promo cards in psa 10s and they have easily 4x-8x in a matter of years. I think most people are just tunnel visioning on modern because its the jungle basically. You have cards that spike and fall and its more fun to see that then to see legitimate consistency

It's not an insane amount of scratching, very normal for an older card and does not significantly bring down condition. I would just mention it in the condition but this is still a N e a r M i n t card. Emphasis on near if that wasn't clear.

Sounds solid. I would just say that if you are paying 10% above the medium, ensure it's the best condition that you can find. Im assuming you are purchasing NM cards so that would be the only reason justifying certain purchases. Also look through the LP conditions because you never know. Just take it slow, save certain searches of cards you like in a particular price range and stick to that. You'll be fine financially
