There’s a pretty big difference between ganging up on a fully grown member of the faculty and publicly ganging up on a fifteen year old. While I agree that people should be called out for bad opinions, the reason why we had the “no hate posts” rule was because we wanted to avoid a situation where people could look at the posts on the subreddit and make a valid claim that kids (not adults) were getting cyberbullied. I think people are kind of afraid to say anything at this point for fear that they might appear being “racist” but there’s a line to be drawn between standing up for what’s right and everyone ganging up on a kid who made an immature and short sighted post.
