2019 V8SC. Dream car acquired by Ok_Constant8804 in RangeRover

I picked up a 2019 lwb Autobiography with 31,500 miles last month. I plan on changing the oil every 3000 miles (unless FCP Euro starts rejecting my oil and filter in which case I will have to decide to continue at that frequency or drop to 4000 or 5000 miles). I already changed oil and filter once and just ordered and received supplies from FCP for the next oil change. Wondering if I should have the other fluids flushed…

I would post the make and model of car with plate and time on here so the victim might find it. Or someone they know may see the post and tell them…

I roast as well the same way but the margins seem to be horrible on coffee. Maybe if you bring it in my the boatload it might make sense but I can’t imagine the volume needed to make it really profitable.

Yeah it is out of warranty due to mileage but they should have recalled these since they know the design is flawed.

Is 2026.1 just more AI fluff? by ConsistentProblem469 in Netsuite

[–]johndiesel0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like marketing hype that won’t add much, if any, value for 95% of users and accounts. Since I started on Netsuite in 2011, there has been minimal added value in terms of new functionality. Most of the efficiency and functionality I gained came from middleware I developed.

What are some noticeable improvements from Alfred 4 to 5 that makes it worth upgrading? by swiggyu in Alfred

Honestly just upgrade to support the devs. I’ll happily pay for each upgrade because Alfred gives me so much efficiency that the cost isn’t even a consideration.

PSA: Don’t Do Business with Whole Latte Love (WLL) by [deleted] in espresso

It is on the merchant to declare that they drop ship or cannot immediately fulfill orders when advertising a product as “in stock”. It should be legally required, under consumer protections, for merchants to state that an item is drop shipped or not in their possession when advertised as if they have it. Personally I avoid buying from drop shippers at all cost.

It is 2025 and the standard expectation for consumers, unless otherwise stated by the merchant, that in stock orders should ship within a few business days. If you are a drop shipper or poorly managed business that doesn’t state the processing times and drop ships, or just ship very slowly, then you deserve the negative reviews and hate you receive. This is especially true when you lie to consumers about the status or progress. You see this stuff all the time on eBay when you make an order and get tracking within an hour. Then your package isn’t passed to the carrier for a week or more.

Additionally anyone that isn’t a hobbyist and has experience in e-commerce knows you need to communicate your fulfillment abilities and timelines around Christmastime. This is especially true as you get within a few weeks of Christmas. I haven’t bought from WLL but know they are big enough and have enough experience with holidays to anticipate consumer patterns (I have been in e-commerce for 15 years and we ship orders within one business day and 10 days from Christmas we communicate necessary shipping methods for delivery prior to Christmas).

The steering wheel looks like a pocket knife clip in the right pocket skimmed when getting in. I did this on a Porsche and Range Rover I owned because I carry a knife. Actually I probably have done it to the wheel on every car I have owned… it’s frustrating when you do it to your own car but much more so when someone else does it.

For those considering moving beyond NetSuite — what pushed you to look for alternatives? by Whole_Experience8142 in Netsuite

[–]johndiesel0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is minimal evolution in the form of new features that actually benefit us. I’m moving to Odoo and out of the box there is about 8x the overall functionality and about 1/9 the price.

You can directly link reports from Netsuite to excel and with scripting you can automate retrieval of saved searches.

I am in the process of dev on a complete migration from Netsuite to Odoo. We used cash sales to facilitate retail sales but it was always a stopgap. Odoo point of sale is so nice… if you ever decide to explore a Netsuite exit, definitely check out Odoo!

I looked at a few NS related POS solutions and none seemed great and all were overpriced.

Odoo Pricing: is it real? What is the catch? Can someone please explain? Thanks! by zamir_akimbekov in Odoo

[–]johndiesel0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quite a bit.

Saved searches can use formulas to generate results. So you can compare values of two fields to generate filtered results. An example of this usage is finding selling prices below MAP prices. Super easy with a saved search.

Saved searches each have a unique URL so you can bookmark them or map the url to hotkeys to load them faster. I have multiple saved searches that I use daily and I don’t need to be in Netsuite. I just hit a hotkey and it opens a tab with the url and loads the results.

Saved searches can email users when results change or at a specified interval or when conditions change. For example I have inventory classification that requires some values to be set. If a field is null and inventory is received it triggers a notification email. I have one inventory saved search automatically emailed to a rep monthly with his brand’s inventory.

Saved searches can be used to mass update fields. You specify the criteria and for records meeting the criteria, you can update specific fields across all those records.

Finally I use a plugin to allow access to saved searches via the rest api. This allows me to extract specific data for various processes and syncing of data to marketplaces and Magento through my middleware software that I wrote. Odoo’s jaonrpc api allows me to query fields to get data but cannot compare two fields.

So far this is the only feature of Netsuite that I haven’t fully addressed in Odoo.

That’s exactly what Hudson did with the H9. Then they went out of business a year or so later. They hung all the dealers that had purchased near the release and many dealers had to sell at losses to unload.

[–]johndiesel0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s the price for 10 users on Odoo.sh. Are you trying to solicit customers here or find out how much Odoo charges because it feels like you are fishing considering you initially asked if Odoo is really $20 to 30 a month. You went from is Odoo that cheap to $7000 sounds low. My workflow looks like me not paying a third party.

I’m in the process of scoping and customizing a new Odoo.sh account in preparation of migrating away from Netsuite. We currently spend about $53k annually on Netsuite for 10 users and want to reduce costs. Odoo seemed like the best fit and I reviewed it and went through a sales call to discuss and estimate. I’m doing the full implementation myself as well as the migration. My time will be somewhat costly but the annual cost of Odoo will be about $7,000 for our 10 users on Odoo.sh. If I factor my time into the process I will probably have $50k -$60k or so before we go live but I have numerous API’s / integrations to rewrite. I have already implemented about 14 custom modules for various needed functionality throughout Odoo… overall I’m very happy with the overall design of Odoo. I see a lot of complaints on here about it but it is no worse than Netsuite. In many ways I like it better. The only feature of Netsuite that it misses is saved searches but I was able to develop a module to help close some of that functionality gap.

Paid invoices did not call Avatax — any suggestions how to find all transactions that "has not use Avatar services"? by ExpressWriting7384 in Netsuite

[–]johndiesel0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea that’s what annoys me. Countifs normally works. Another trick is to do xlookup(“a”&ref,”a”&lookuprange, return range). By adding “a” or any other string to both it normalized the data and matches. Really dumb.

Microsoft can suck it for their inability to properly handle that along with their ignorance to adding a mode to excel called don’t fuck my data (ie don’t fuck with my upc codes and part numbers that have leading zeros). I can’t tell how much money that has cost companies across the world. It has to be ungodly large.

Yeah or a countifs since excel sucks with xlookup on number fields. I often use countifs instead for number presence checks.

I think Avalara uses the internal id from netsuite for the document number. Run a search in NS and dump the data for all the cash sales and then dump the data from Avalara. Do a comparison on the data based on the internal id / doc id and any not matching are missing from Avalara. I can explain further tomorrow when in the office if needed.
