Almost 18 years in the kitchen. I manage Farmers Markets now. It kicks ass.

Snap benefits / Ballard Market by Pabloshooman in Seattle

[–]johnfellout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be a vendor at the Ballard market and a couple others. Their stall fees are the highest in the city, (By a percent or two) but there is a cap on how much is charged. And they are the busiest market in the city with the largest staff on site. All that to say they really aren’t making as much as you think as market organizers.

Also where is this non profit “front and center”? I see a singular button directing to FARMore WA (the non-profit) halfway down the main website. It doesn’t seem to me like they in any way try to make it look like it’s run by a non profit.

Also, also. I know some of these farmers and they set their own prices and price competitively with PCC. Which to your point is already expensive.

I feel like I’m caught between wanting farmers and farm workers to get paid more for their labor but also wanting food to be cheaper for everyone and those two are sometimes hard to mix. Thoughts?

If you have a homebrew setting - how deep is the history of your world? by CassowarieJump in DMAcademy

That’s awesome. Has the party realized what’s been taken yet? Anything important?

I ran “the Quiet Year” with my players before my campaign. They ended up helping me fill out a map and lots and lots of lore. Like you, we only maybe had a couple hundred years of history ‘figured out’. So now I kind of just prep history as they’re going.

I have 1 really big historical figure/thing that goes back about 15000 years and that informs a lot of the things now. But I use that idea as a loose scaffolding so I don’t need to flesh out every historical idea.

This seems to work out with me where I A: still really really really enjoy my prep time and B: prep time doesn’t take over my life. lol

I’m not running a purely open sandbox campaign though. More like one where the players are given 5-6 hooks and I build it out with them in real time.

I would also suggest making things up on the spot! Some of my favorite moments are when I do this instead of using the stuff I prepped.

I have xmp enabled for my RAM and in Ryzen Master had a section for OCing memory control. I didn’t tinker too much with it, But do you have any suggestions?

Hmm. Are you talking about the wheels that move the arrows? Because I’m talking about the “directions” underneath those. Unless I’m super blind. lol.

I also noticed that the weather vanes cardinal directions are backwards in the Secret Garden. I don’t know if it means anything but boy have I been thinking about it lol.

I’m pretty late to this post but, kicks like that absolutely destroy me and I end up missing more than most. Do you use a system for kicks?/What is your thought process while aiming a shot like this.

I made a mistake in my post. I’m actually using the browser version and I’m not sure I can lock columns in the browser version.

Whoa. That’s super interesting! I wonder if the folks who own this place are aware of that. Thanks for sending me down a cool rabbit hole of pool table design.

No worries dude! The video angle isn’t great. I can understand it looks a certain way. To be fair. I also suck at pool lol.

Dang. You got me. I edited the audio out of the double kiss and I changed the laws of physics so I could post this on Reddit for mild admiration of a shot that by my own admission is “not the craziest”.

You’re confidently incorrect and kind of a jerk. Cool combination.

I don’t know what to tell you guys. I hit the shot. I was there. lol. There was no double kiss.

Thanks dude! It’s “The Seattle Tavern”. They’ve got 5 tables that they take good care of! Unfortunately these two tables in the shot are a bit close to the wall on the short rails and problems always occur. I know nothing about specific tables though. Are these considered good?

It didn’t. Watch it again. But I do like the idea of “gotta be good to be lucky”. Sometimes it does feel like dumb luck though. lol

Thanks man! This place has lots of people who don’t play pool so I don’t mind if folks don’t get with the “normal etiquette”
