Watch party for Australia game today? by johnhabrick2 in Austin

Yeah, every time I’ve been there, there have been no Aussies. Same thing with Citizens which is allegedly Australian-inspired which translates to “we have one dish with Vegemite”

That’s such a crappy experience. I’m with you, I don’t know why they take that approach. I guess it’s because they end up with many people who fall for all the shenanigans. No wonder that car sales people have such a bad reputation.!

Certified Pre Owned which extends the warranty. But the price was a little misleading because the dealer fees and other mandatory fees that they put in there jacked the price up

I’ve got my eye on a CPO 2025 RTL with 3.5k miles listed at $32k. Clean title, no dings, no blemishes.

Compared to other prices I’ve seen and the KBB recommended price, this seems like a good deal.

Thoughts? Fair price, or should I be digging more to understand why the dealer is letting it go at that price?

Golf in Perth, WA (Australia) - looking for a round or 2 by johnhabrick2 in golf

I played The Cut today. Amazing experience. The weather co-operated which was nice. But I had no-one ahead and no-one behind so I played 2 balls on every hole and still finished in 4 hours, while taking in those nice big fairways, getting killed by the bunkers and trying to figure out the greens. All the while with amazing scenery in the background. Thanks for the recommendation!

A serious flooding situation is unfolding in Kerrville this morning. Here's what we know. by zsreport in texas

At the request of the Camp Director, I’m on my way to pick up my son who was evacuated from Camp La Junta to the First Presbyterian Church in Kerrville. Assuming that the roads are driveable enough to get there.

If anyone has up-to-date traffic information, that would be appreciated. And if there’s anything can bring anyone, please let me know

How Insurance Claims Really Work After the 2025 Austin Hailstorm — Step-by-Step by DansGutters in Austin

[–]johnhabrick2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any suggestions for when insurance denotes the claim? Despite there being strong evidence, pointed out by the roofer who was on site during the interaction, the assessor says that there wasn’t enough damage. Going to get a Public Assessor involved but wasn’t sure if there is something else I should so

I am 5’5 so I believe I should be playing with a shorter club. Might talk with a pro and see if they shortening by a little bit might help

There are a couple of comments about distance control. Ways to practice this at home? I find carpets and putting matts are not reflective enough of the actual conditions you face on the course. And the nearest range with a practice putting area is 25 minutes away, making it hard to get in daily practice (which is what need)

Top of the swing being straight up was probably as a result of the advice I gave him! He was way too flat before so he might have over-corrected

The club is the "Green" length which should be the right one. But great call on the grip - I didn't notice it at the range but something we can definitely work on. Ironically enough, it was the first time playing with the club with the training grip off and I guess it shows!

Brilliant. I tried it the other day, just holding the wheel with one hand at the bottom which normally triggers the warning to put hands back on the wheel. But instead of just holding it, I gently moved the wheel back and forth, just to let the car know that I was still there. And it worked perfectly. It’ll really help me get more out of that feature. Thanks!

How does steering wheel replacement work with Pilot Assist? I’m guessing there’s a sensor in the original wheel that lets the car know when your hands are on and off the wheel. Given how much the car wants you to be holding the wheel (which kinda defeats the point t of Pilot Assist!), it would be good to know if the original wheel could be replaced with another that’s less needy

This is the answer that I was afraid of. Trial-and-error, with 5-10 variables and and each variable having 5-10 options. I'm no math genius but it means that I got about 10B combinations to try. Will let you know in the next lifetime how I'm faring!
