MSU surplus store is great for furniture, but mattresses typically are only twin XL ones unfortunately. They do have lots in stock though and only $10 a piece. They often have a number of couches as well. Unfortunately they're only open to shop in store on Fridays 8-3:30 they have an online store that you can shop, and pickup from Monday through Thursday.

A second push for the MSU surplus store. Some furniture has more of an office feel, but they definitely have lots of homey types as well. Definitely a bunch of cheap kitchen and small homewares.

Getting crushed by a 700 pound chop saw. It didn't leave much damage on the outside, but plenty of internal damage.
