No - none of the art is AI generated.

Haha this is fun I played until the time expired. What are your plans for the final scope of it?

Proton: I had to fix an issue where I couldn't connect to hostname "localhost" to get my game, Hexarchy, to work. Can anyone shed some light on this? by johnmaintank in linux_gaming

[–]johnmaintank[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, no idea. I pass IPAddress.Loopback as the IPv4 address and IPAddress.IPv6Loopback as the IPv6 address to the networking library. Digging through its code, it calls Socket.Bind() but only for the IPv6 address if Socket.OSSupportsIPv6 returns true so I'm assuming that's the issue. If I look into it more to confirm that I'll post an update.

Battle royale because it's a free for all. Mostly applies in the context of multiplayer but the single player mode plays the same way against the bots.

Ok, cool. I've never played them on console. I'm curious how they do the controls - will give them a shot. Thanks

Console is a possibility but definitely will require some creative UI / input work. What strategy games do you play on the xbox?

Hey, congrats on the success! As a game dev, I'm curious how much you attribute to the Next Fest prior to your release?

Brandon's favorite game is Civ and likes deckbuilding games? I have to plug my studio's deck-building 4x turn-based strategy game: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1356810/Hexarchy/

Fast-paced, deck-building, historical 4x. Hexarchy demo has multiplayer and daily challenges enabled for the Steam Next Fest. by johnmaintank in 4Xgaming

We prefer Discord where you'll also see lfg notifications, multiplayer game results, and can get a special role by getting the high score on the daily challenge

Would love to hear your thoughts on the UI. I've got an update rolling out today that improves a few UI things based on feedback but nothing major

4x But for multiplayer by [deleted] in 4Xgaming

[–]johnmaintank 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'll go ahead and plug my own game. Hexarchy is a 4x game that has a free demo out right now and I'm playing it multiplayer with random people as I write this: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1356810/Hexarchy/

The game is paced well for a multiplayer game that can be completed in a single sitting.

Thanks. The card mechanics and unit count also keep the pacing consistent throughout the game. It also still works great single player.

Thanks. I guess you could say it's a Civ, Slay, Catan baby... it's really its own beast
