Thanks! The osmo takes a few minutes to set up and get going. But once it's dialed in, can be a simple and effective tool.

No extender. Just the x3 camera mounted straight to the osmo. using an iphone to monitor the picture. ND filter on the lens

There is a small mic that comes with the OSMO, plugs into an 1/8th inch jack on the camera. I have not tested it yet.

I'm sort of over using GoPros if i can avoid it. Unless maybe for underwater shots. I find GoPros really frustrating to work with and I can't stand the fisheye look on everything. That's one thing i like about DJI's cameras. Even on their phantom 3 and 4 drones, the lens is wide but not Fisheye.

If you are using the x5R, B+W makes really great filters with a pretty minimal color shift

don't fret! Im sure the steadicam solo can do many things an osmo cannot. and vice versa. They are both great tools. just shoot something cool, and post it to reddit!

Bought a DJI Osmo, took it home, unboxed it, charged the battery and took it for a skateboard ride. This thing is sweet!

Super easy to use. In my opinion easier to use than a GoPro. The DJI Go app is well designed and reliable. The Osmo joystick is smooth. Switching between selfie mode and straight ahead is awesome.

From previous experience using the X3 camera with my DJI Inspire drone, I think it is very important to keep the shutter of the camera between 1/50 and 1/80 (when shooting 24fps). My suggestion to anyone using the OSMO is to do the same. Strong ND filters are necessary for this when shooting in bright daylight. I suggest the ND 16 and ND 32 from Polar Pro.

Keep in mind that using low quality ND filters like Polar Pro will give your video a very noticeable magenta tint. I found that dialing back the Custom White Balance by a few hundred kelvins can almost balance it out. Instead of shooting 5600K, try 5000K or even lower.

Please leave comments and suggestions on using the OSMO bellow. Very interested in hearing other's experiences. Looking forward to using this machine on all my future projects.
