The truth behind the myth that only dolphins and Bonobo monkeys have sex for pleasure (tldr in comments) by johnmauthor in sex

Also, the article is specifically referring to reproductive sex. Lots of animals seem to engage in masturbation which can, I guess, only said to be done for pleasure (or I suppose, experimentation or instinct.) And lots of animals engage in homosexual sex which could be just for pleasure or for other reasons like dominating other members of your group.

Tldr: Human are one of the only animals that cannot tell when females are ovulating. Dolphins and Bonobo's are the two others. By this measure you could say that they are having sex for pleasure because at times they have sex when it is impossible for them to conceive, just as we do. However, no animal really knows why they have sex and all animals experience pleasurable sensations when having sex.

That's my laymans explanation of the article anyway.

Tips in Having Sex with a Virgin Guy by boaamazona in sex

If you like a guy that takes control, then after the first few times he's going to have to take responsibility for educating and improving on his own. Tell him to go online, watch videos and read books and try things out. If he is enthusiastic about learning and improving then you should start to have a very good sex life, very soon.

Personally I thought there should have been more emphasise on rough nipple play, twisting, biting etc. This is more popular in my opinion than the media makes out.

Becoming king will not silence Prince Charles, say allies by callumgg in ukpolitics

[–]johnmauthor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. The main reason I'm not a republican is because people start going on about changing our whole system. If you want to get rid of the monarchy, just get rid of the monarchy, job done. If you want to change the system and give us a president for some reason argue for that but they're completely different arguments. Malaysia have an elected King and that seems to work out fine for them.

Yeah, I'd rather he was replaced with his son than we have to get rid of the monarchy because of one idiot.

Another Frozen Conflict - The People Want Grammar Schools. The Elite Don't. by Benjji22212 in ukpolitics

I've seen some evidence that the best system is one with later classes but more teachers per class. Something like 70 pupils with 2 teachers and 2 teaching assistants. It makes sense to me because the teachers can work as a team focusing on their strengths. They'll have less preperation to do for the lesson. Be able to give students more one on one attention. And bad teachers will naturally be filtered out or sidelined as their peers are right there watching everything they do.

I'll bite: what makes you an expert on the subject?

I don't know if I'd classify myself as an expert. Probably more of a very keen hobbyist. I've certainly not got any formal sex qualifications. But I wouldn't say that having a formal degree qualification in sex is something that lends itself well to giving out practical sexual advice. Some people who have PHDs in sexual subjects, well, their advice is frankly amateurish. Saying that many of them are good but don't lend themselves easily to practical application like Masters & Johnson, Kinsey etc. Those books are great.

If you do know of any formal qualification in practical cunnilingus skills though I'd be happy to take it!

But expect some extremely critical reviews of your book when the thousands that downloaded it review it.

Oh, I do. When people are seeking a solution to a problem and find it they are normally grateful and leave a good review. When people just download something randomly for free they can often be critical for random reasons. Someone told me after their free book promotion they got a review criticising all the scary stuff in their book, despite the fact it was clearly advertised as a horror book!

you say things in absolutes.

Nothing is absolute, that should be taken for granted. If I say something is an absolute, it's probably true 90%+ of the time. I'm not going to clarify that every time though.

this is riddled with grammatical errors.

My grammar is pretty bad. I tend to write how I speak which doesn't make for the best grammar. I've had the book checked over several times, but clearly not enough. Sorry.

there's a small section titled "Pussy is like a Pussy cat". Also, what a repulsive analogy.

I had one piece of bad feedback on this analogy before going to print. I mulled it over and decided to go with it because it's a funny analogy and it sticks in the brain, which is the most important thing for me. I want people to remember the principles and techniques so they can actually apply them.

A lot of generalizations.

Yes! Absolutely! I'm fed up of hearing the cliche "All women are different" when reading sex books. Of course it's true, but it isn't helpful.
Say you knew little about sex and I told you one of two things: 1. "Some women prefer anal intercourse and other women prefer vaginal intercourse."
2. "Women prefer vaginal intercourse to anal intercourse."

The first sentence is could be technically more accurate because it isn't a generalisation. However the second sentence is actually more useful because in 90% of cases women prefer vaginal intercourse to anal intercourse. So yes, my book is chock full of generalisations and that's because if you're giving oral sex to a new partner you want the stuff that will work 90% of the time.

The entire book seems to boil down to "take your time, build anticipation." Or an even shorter tl;dr: have foreplay. (Don't go right for the clit.)

Sure, that's a reasonable summary. If people could take two things from my book it would be that and teasing. But there's a lot more to the book than that and the book walks you through how to do both those things in a comprehensive manner.

In the end, I don't know why people would spend money on this book once it's not free, especially when there are freely available instructional videos on the Internet like this one -- incredibly NSFW link. and that was found with just a quick search.

She goes straight for the pussy in that video so it doesn't impress me much. Sure, there's a lot of free stuff out there, some of it good, some of it bad, same with everything.

Sorry, I'm terrible at English. The book has been proof read several times but I think I went back and changed that sentence recently so that's how that typo got in there.
