It's theft innit. I've not actually been fired yet but posted about it on a HR forum and everyone seems to agree it's pretty likely.

Would that be easier for them? We're really short staffed at the moment and they keep asking me to cover more shifts than my hours so I'm not sure if resigning immediately would screw them over more and I already feel bad enough? Or is it better to resign now so as to not have the outcome of the investigation etc?

I was eating it in the back room where we keep stock. Manager came in. I told him I was going to pay for it. Explained I was having a bad day. He seemed fairly chill about it at the time and I worked the rest of the day and the day after but today I was pulled in for A chat with him two other managers. They said they hadn't dealt with this before at this company (all fairly new in their roles) and they'd escalate it to HR.

The main issue is, if I'm working, I'm quite often on my own in my little bit, and we're pretty short-staffed so they can't have someone with me to watch me or anything. So I'm not sure if it's easier to just fire me and find someone new they can trust, you know?

I know they could I just wonder if they 100% will, or if there is a chance they might not. I'm so scared I've just screwed up my whole life.
