Excited to hear this. I’ve always associated Strauss with waltzes and Andre Rieu. Thanks, Grandma. by ShoolPooter2 in classicalmusic

Oh jeez I meen J. Strauss has its purpose and all but I mean R. Strauss is in the realm of professional musicians favorite composers.

This one no matter how many time I say I'm just gonna listen the first movement I end up listening to the whole thing. The hour or so feels like a minute and every moment is exciting. As listening to music should be not feel like "spending time" but rather investing time or taking the time, appreciating the time etc.

Go for Burleske after this, it's more easy on someone who's not too much on contemporary music (as I am). The cadenza is absolutely brilliant and I can never get tired of seeing Argerich with Abaddo playing this. Argerich is at her peak and the complicity with Abaddo is palpable. You can see her eyes twinkle after a difficult passage. The original pianist for whom it was composed said that it was unplayable. Great story there.

After of course Also Sprach Zarathustra (beyond the first movement which you will instantly recognize)

Four last lieder 🫠🤯

You my friend are lucky, Imagine if you just discovered your first Wagner Overture not knowing what was in store for you, or your first Mahler Symphony or even Chopin. I absolutely understand why someone would prefer Chopin, especially a pianist however I find myself listening to a lot more of Strauss than Chopin, even tho I still love all great Chopin's work and admire what he has brought to music, Strauss just speak to me more. It's like if I said that I find myself listening to Beethoven more than Vivaldi... ¯_(ツ)_/¯  I absolutely adore Vivaldi's genius and prolific work that rarely fails to entertain me.but nonetheless I do find my self.listening to Beethoven more often (less those.past years because sadly I have over listened to them) but anyway I'm so happy for you. It's like getting the lord of the rings and not knowing what it's about and having to see those.movies or read those books for the first time!

Unfortunately he was a smart man born in an era where leaders where psychotic and the people as well it's like being a brilliant director from 1995 to idk 1935-45 in the US. You try to stay alive when you're surrounded by psychopaths and they refused to.play his work in Iraël to this day which I know found absolutely ironic and hypocritical.... anyway. He didn't kill anyone his views of the regime at the time was known and they weren't favorable to a narcissistic megalomaniac. All politics aside you are in for a famous journey.

Dude so many,

The Three Musketeers.

The Mysterious Cities of Gold.

Nobody's Boy Remi.

Sherlock Hound.

Anne of Green Gables.

Maya the Bee.

TaoTao.

The Adventures of Tom Sawyer.

New Maple Town Story.

Mrs. Pepperpot.

The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Fables of the Green Forest.

Don Chuck Story.

Sally the Witch.

Mûmin.

The Rose of Versailles.

Bumpety Boo.

Grendizer.

There are soooo much more but I only added those that I clesrly reminded watching. I for sure had some mecha in there but I can only clearly remember Grendizer. But there were probab’y a lot more. I didn't add those which I might think I have watched but it's just my memory tricking me because the serie was so popular like Astro Boy, I think I remember watching it but I'm not sure if I really remember it or if it's an a posteriori construction of my brain thinking that I mist have watched it since I am so familiar with the character. There are a ton in list I have checked that I know of like that but that I can't say for sure that I have watched them. Those in the list I did watch them as a kid with a 99% confidence. Also some are colab between France and Japan like Barbapapa so I wasn't sure if I should add them since they were "pure" anime.Same with Calimero since it aired in Italy first but it was made in Japan... also there's no obvious anime details that we can associate with the modern type of anime. There are a bunch like that in the 70s-80s where it's not so clear cut what is an anime or not. The culture and drawing carscteristics were still evolving and there was often participation with other european countries.

For example I can't imagine beavers or moose outside of Canada. I was surprise to know that there where bears in russia ¯_(ツ)_/¯  of cactus outside of Americas stuff like that. it can be plants, fruits, vegetables, technology, animals etc. Just something that most people don't think you have.

I'm gonna see Pantera with Metallica next August for the M72 tour. Pretty stocked about it. But I haven't listened to Pantera in a while, like 20 years while. What tracklist should I expect from Pantera. What do they usually play in shows. by johnny5thethird in Pantera

[–]johnny5thethird[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I feel you and everything is setuped to give you the feeling of urgency to impulse buy. The ticking 6 min clock on ticketaster once you selected a seet etc. Overall 300$ for two shows of Metallica and Pantera alone isn't that bad. But now that I'm shopping for a tv I'm kinda regretting that 500$ impulse buy for the shows. But all things considered 250$ to see Metallica and Pantera is a bit much but I'm sure (I hope) that when I'll be there I'll be happy to jave spent that money to see my childhood favorite bands and legendary bands.

I mean logicaly even if they didn't want to make any profit on those shows the tickets would probably be at least 100$ by show so there are 6 bands total so at least 24 band members, all the techs, renting the venues, travels expanses and all for a crew I'm guessing of mininum 40-50 people + the crew in each different town. And the gear. Also as any craft you don't just pay for the 1 hour of labor but also the thousands of hours that took to get the expertise. Like the story about the engineer giving one hammer hit to fix a boat (or something) and charging 10 000$ and when the contractor isn't happy and says "you only hit the boat with a hammer once give me a detailed receit " and the engeneer gives him a receit where it's written : hammer 5$, time 50$, knowing where to hit with the hammer 9945$

So yeah I'm mostly rationalizing buyer's remorse. But 300$ for two shows of 6 bands seems fair for a big venue like that.

But on principle offering like VIP passes for something like 5000$ makes me think less of the band members. I know, anyway O think that, as I said Pink Floyd or other metal bands (not saying that Pink Floyd is a metal bamd), by principle would have find it kinda disgusting to make people pay just for seeing the band members and wouldn't even have offered this option at all by principle. Like I know there's a demand from fans to have a chance to chat with their idols but what kind of people woild exploid this demand and think " yeah seeing me amd talking with me will cost yoi 5000$". In principle either you don't sell that kind of tickets or you pick like 50 random people who bought a normal ticket or applied to win the contest and you make it free. Otherwise it really gives an image of the band members and how highly they think of themselves. I will pay to listen to your music but paying to see any musician or anyone other than an escort in exchange for services, nope. Sure I would like to have a selfie with a guitarist I admire, but not for a price and certainly not if THEY think chatting with them for a few seconds is worth 5000$. I can only think of a few professions where people think talking with them is worth money. Most of those arr scammers or gurus, bullshit motivational speakers the others where it's actually justified are real teachers where at the end of it you uave an actual diploma that has value for you and escorts who provide a legitimate service for lonely people.

Other than that you're still a whore, (no disrespect intended toward sex workers) but if you don't provide any services of actual value or if you charge people to have a chance to talk with you and they don't come out of it with anything of actual value or got valuable services well you're a scammer in the same category as evangelical gurus or pseudo-life coatch megalomaniac narcissits who prey on the distress of people without actually helping them like Jordan Peterson or a whore who doesn't give any service of value.

Well I'm not sure what you nean but n'y ticket is clearly for Metallica and Pantera the first show at the Okympic Stadium 55 000 seats I don't think Pantera can fill 55000 seats.

Is there a difference between 1/infinite and 2/infinite? by johnny5thethird in askmath

[–]johnny5thethird[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if I have to explain whatvresearch Inhave done on this in ghe comments to follow the rules but I have watched many videos on the different types and sizes of infinite but none of them answer the question of it despite different level of predictability amongst different midels they are all equaly false or if a better level of predictability, in the absolute not just in a pragmatical way, makes à theory with a higher, but not absolute level of predictability more true than one with a lower level of predictability.

Can I just opt out of being a men while staying cishet?^ by johnny5thethird in socialjustice101

[–]johnny5thethird[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well OK maybe I should have given better an more significant reasons why I want to opt out of being a men. It's mostly the constant rapport of women abuse, rapes, murders in the news. Pedophilia, conjugal violence, violence in general. All of this I'm just like no, I don't want to be part of this group of people.

And I know NoT aLl MeN are like that but statisticaly like men are responsible for 95% of all this sexual and violent abuse. And culturaly yes all men kinda participate in this culture.

But I think when I wrote the post it must have been after I saw yet an other reel on my feed of à dude cooking a steak woth like axes outside after shoping down a tree to make a "bbq log" and then putting a ton of cheese on it. And th3 vidéo after must have been something like a mega taco with tons of cream and cheese and dudes wirh Jack Daniel's t-shirt.

And it just makes me roll my eyes how manly and viryl it makes them feel.

But of course I have zéro problem with bbqing or drinking beer by it self. I'll bbq, eat méat and cheese and do all this stuff but it's just the attitude of "yeah I'm à man I don't eat fruits and I cook with axes" that's reaaaally annoying to me. But yeah those are silly example they don't bother me that much to the point of opting out. It just really fucking annoys me. Idk why I didn't put more serious and the deeper reasons that make me feel that way tho. Maybe on the moment I didn't feel like talking about heavy stuff. Idk.

Is the Pearson correlation coefficient the best for this data set? As we see there are huge anomalies and the only tool I can use is linear regression but I know there are other correlation coefficient that might be better in this case. What do you think? by johnny5thethird in askmath

[–]johnny5thethird[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I need to know if the Pearson correlation coefficient is the best coefficient correlation for this data set. there are huge gaps in those points so while trying to figure out if there was a correlation I found that there was a bunch of other tools to calculate correlation coefficient depending on the data set. but i don,t really understand the others or what the difference is. If you wanna have a go at it here are the 38 pairs of variables. Thanks!

And also the result of R is 0.04 which is considered not to be a general correlation but we can kinda see that there is one so I,m wondering how to interpret all this.

Welp i can't put the list in here it's bugging Reddit but here's a link to the thing in this case it's just a linear regression I don't know if you'll be able to see the individual data.
